Semi- OT: You. The RealGM Poster.

I was quite bored tonight, so I decided to read back to some old threads; everyone's reactions to the major Phoenix Suns franchise moves in the last few years, and I noticed something. I noticed a different DRK (Da_Reel_Kboy). A DRK that not only contributed little to the discussion, but overused emoticons, and generally constantly posted like an annoying, attention seeking young child.
That got me thinking. How much have we evolved from the day we started posting to now? Has our writing style changed? Do we use less emoticons/images, or do we actually take the effort to put some insight into the conversation?
I'm geniunely interested on how you people, our Suns Board Family, view yourself as a poster? Do you feel that you are a good poster? Do you think you have changed as a poster over the years?
Discuss away!

Yeah I used to post a lot and my answers were long. now my post are shorter and more to the point. Having kids has sort of changed the amount of time I spend on here.

Well, for the most part, I've always been content to just add my two cents in a short comment on an issue or another person's thoughts. When I make a long, constructive post, it's really for an issue that I find to be interesting or important.
To add to that, I've never really been that frequent of a poster. Most of my time spent here is lurking time. I like to see what other people have to say about the franchise and its direction, or what direction it should take. I'm not really one to comment on every single thing that goes on within the franchise, or even respond in turn to a reply.
As far as changing, I don't think I've ever been too close knit to the community. But, I think joining the fantasy D-League is a good way to build some presence. Not in the sense that people reply to everything I say, or enough to become a mod, but just enough so that people give some merit to what I might have to say.

DRK, me and you are brothers, homie. Class of 2010, days apart. I've seen you develop, man. You're a different Asian now, a more intelligent Asian. Props to you. Me on the other hand, I've stopped writing paragraphs about crap, lol. I'm more laid back..

I fell off the radar big time. Now back in the driver's seat.
Changed my name since joining, and now more of a lurker/observer.
I still cannot believe I joined in 2006. Crazy to reflect on life and its' happenings since then.

I was 25 when I joined in 2006, so I don't know why my writing style would have changed any. Even though I didn't go back to check.
It's just basketball talk. Even thinking about whether you're a good or poster or not seems silly. That's along the same lines of wondering if you're a good sports talker with your friends or if you're a good commenter on youtube. Who would give it a second thought? I see everyone here as equally good and equally bad, including myself.

I would have to agree.

Just kidding, I think you just got feed up with the bull that the Suns FO has been doing, which is understandable.
I guess I used to post differently on a different forum, but here I just want to speak my mind, but stay within the rules of the forum. I like it here. Much better discussions with less trolls.

I post exactly the same. I really, truly, have a burning heart.

I think I post a lot less frequent than I use to. Planning a wedding, next trip overseas, work commitments etc, fantasy NBA (haha) all take up a lot more time than they use to. Don't think my posting has changed, though I'm more cynical than I was, particularly with the Suns FO

I would say I've matured a lot, going from a teenager who knows very little about the sport to an adult over the last few years. I was here on the board when Phoenix almost defeated LA. That year would prove to be the greatest year of my life so far.
I faced the biggest challenge of my life (public exams, similar to AP), spent a good 3 months on having fun with friends (literally, everyday, we hang out), receiving the horrible scores of the exams (not that horrible, just not good enough by my standards) and it was very devastating, and as a result, my parents gave me an option to study in the US. The support I've received from my family and crew (the bff's) made me appreciate life and people a lot more than I used to. Those, combined with the belief of a Suns / Magic finals, made the year for me. I've grown more in that year than I did with my entire life.

I think everyone can agree that I was and still am the greatest poster in the history of the internet.
That's what the voices tell me, at least.

Good idea for a topic and interesting posts so far.
When I joined as miklo714 in '05 I was definitely a little more confrontational, and was usually one of the first ones to talk trash to someone who was trolling from another board. I still contributed constructively though...my posts also tended to be longer and less frequent than they are now.
After being a member for a while, I stopped visiting as frequently for around a year during college and then I came back and changed my name to Miklo. From then on I posted more often, was less confrontational and all that good stuff. But I'd say with posting style, having sometimes unconventional/controversial/ridiculous basketball opinions, etc, I've always sort of been the same.

I used to post more.
I was still in high school when I joined all those years ago and I think I am a better writer now. I was more up to date on statistics back then though and wasn't afraid to use them to back up my point.

Miklo being "confrontational?" Rsavaj being the greatest poster of all time?
This thread delivers.
