2012 Tank Wagon
After the first preseason game suns.com asked on facebook who we were impressed the most with. I saw that before anyone had commented but decided against commenting "our lottery odds", damn I really should have!
Following our draft odds and potential draft picks will probably be more exciting than actually following the team this year so who do you want in the 2012 draft and in which order?
Clearly Andre Drummond for me, I was hyping the guy since I saw some youtube clips of him 2 years ago. The anticipation of him playing in the league is similar to what it was when I was hoping the Suns would draft Amare Stoudemire way before the draft took place.

So, you are saying that Nash and Hill are the problem?
Hard to see that with Nash, he's playing just as amazing as ever...

If you love tanking so much you should become a Raptors fan. They're tanking even in the pre-season.

Last season, we gave up 144 to the Nuggets. We're improving!

Re: 2012 Tank Wagon
Andre Drummond is the next big thing, clear cut #1 pick and will be able to play either center or power forward in the NBA. Think Amare Stoudemire with Webbers passing and Dwight Howards size.
Imagine we would win the lottery take Drummond at #1 and trade Gortat plus whatever it takes to draft Anthony Davis. LOB AND BLOCK CITY!

It'd be really hard to get both of those guys here. IMO we don't have the assets to trade for either of them one of them.
SHAZAM!
Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Re: 2012 Tank Wagon
I know getting #2 would be near impossible with the assets we have but maybe a later lottery pick could be had for Gortat.
I would take any combination of Drummond and XYZ
Big man combos
Drummond + Davis
Drummond + Sullinger
Drummond + Patric Young
Drummond + Perry Jones
Big man / wing combos
Dummond + Beal
Drummond + Lamb
Drummond + Gilchrist
Dummonrd + Barnes
Thing is Drummond is probably more likely to play center in the NBA.

Re: 2012 Tank Wagon
What we should do is trade Gortat to Boston for both their picks this year. That'd give us 3 all together and we could probably trade up.

Well... whatever the future plans may be, looks like you (Mar##Mar) better sweep out the buckboard and make room. Suns fans are notorious hoppers-on-hoppers-off-ers.

Re: 2012 Tank Wagon
We might not need to tank. The USA Today predicts us to finish 5th in the pacific, and the pacific is the worst division in the conference.
There is a reasonable chance we will desperately need a pg this offseason too. Obviously it would be nice to get Drummond, Jones or Davis, but it is unlikely. We need to target the right people in free agency though.
We have done well drafting in the 9-10 spot a couple of times though, getting Marion and Amare.

Re: 2012 Tank Wagon
You do not have to build around a PG.
It would be a nice change for this franchise too.
Plus there are no top tier PG prospects in the draft next year
C- Drummond, Zeller
PF- Drummond, Davis, Young, Sullinger, P Jones
SF- Barnes, T Jones
SG- Beal, Gilchrist, Lamb
PG-
ComboGuards - Rivers

Count me in, tank commander Mar. Let's draft a big guy, Anthony Davis, or maybe a point guard after Nash's departure? Myck Kabongw244w6334rsg anyone? Seth Curry? Austin Rivers?

Re: 2012 Tank Wagon
I didn't say we need to build around a pg but we will certainly need one. But yes, if we can find the next Hakeem, Shaq, Kobe, LeBron, Howard, Wade or Duncan, a premier pg is not as necessary.
