Reason for optomism on this otherwise awful night.

They need a scorer, they need a sparkplug. He might not have anything left, but at this point, what's to lose in giving him a try, as long as it's not a contract of any consquence.

this team was built on Amare and Nash's pick and roll game. the problem is not so much that we lack shooters we just don't have a consistent threat to score in the paint.

I think with the addition of Redd, he will help us get a higher draft pick! :P

+1

It really isn't anymore complicated than that.

Bring him in. If he can knock a couple shots down, it'll be worth it.

Considering how not even one of our so called "shooters" are making anything, it might be worth it to bring in Redd and see if we rejuvenate his career like Hill.

Bad thing is bringing him in almost definitely means that we won't be going after a young good SG aka OJ Mayo, Courtney Lee, Terrence Williams etc.

Why don't we just bring every player in the NBA that has been on the injured list for 3+ years.

If we do sign him, it will be the same as the Telfair signing for me. The whole point of a minor rebuild (to me anyway) is to keep your best older mentor guys, and bring in a bunch of young talent or possible talent.

This is why, I think we need a better scouting team. We should have kept Lawal and dumped Siler. Then signed Lighty, SWilliams, and a point. Price is fine with me on that spot. A few young guys, some with possible good potential, and then our older players can help the youngsters. And if the older guys can't run, bring in the young guys and see what they can do. That is the only way we can see, who has the chance to be in our future.

But signing Redd and Telfair, just pushes young guys to the bench, and some deep on the bench. Heck Gentry playing VC for so long in the starting line up should show us that Gentry will start the old vets. :(

to me it´s the sign that the suns realized that jd is no starter material at the off guard position.
i doubt that redd is the answer but he hits the open shots and handles the ball better than jd will ever do.

Props to the great one

Sorry, I really like Redd but I don't think he's a starter since his defense is horrible. Bring him as a scorer off the bench with Brown running the point, Hill as the leader and Price as the defensive option.
Hill on Nash going to the Lakers: “That’s like transferring from Duke and going to Carolina.”

Redd was once an effortless scorer, but those days are gone. This reeks of desperation, but like others have said, it can't hurt. But he will instantly be better than VC, because he has a heart.
