I Blame Old Conservative White People!

No, not for the economic issues of this country, but for the current signing of Michael Redd,; and the Suns unwillingness to let Nash go; fail and rebuild.

I believe Sarver is placating these people who care nothing about winning titles; they only go to the games because they have nothing better to do (shuffleboard anyone?), and as long as they can watch Nash and good ole (non-threatening...i.e tatoos) black guys like Hill, Frye, Dudley etc then they are okay with the current state of the Suns. I say the latter, because Sarver had no problems letting the brothas go without public backlash.....but, when it comes to Nash...oh hell no, we can't do that, because "the fans will not go to games".

On Realgm, there isn't one person here who is afraid of letting Nash go. I am assuming most of the guys here are not Old Conservatives (that is really the issue, not color) besides Frank

These people have no emotional attachment to the Suns as your average everyday fanatic, thus it is purely a form of entertainment not to be taken seriously. They care more about the "actors" than the play itself.

Laker fans would never put up with what Sarver has done and continue to do, because their fans are emotionally invested in the Lakers. The Lakers have one yearly goal, and if management does not appear to be headed toward that goal, then the fans go apechit!! Radio and TV is flooded with vociferous phone calls and protest; here, it is just Oh...Ho....Hum.

Until we can get these OLD FARTS to actually care about winning and not just being entertained, we will continue to fight to go .500 and sign people like REDD?!!! I mean are the Suns and Gentry in denial?!! Are they trying to mess up our draft position and (Please Use More Appropriate Word) the growth of Morris and Lopez?! For what? To miss the playoffs and continue to draft 13-15?!

I know I am stereotyping, but I cannot understand our situation in any other way, doesn't make sense! I am pissed about the AZcentral article "not a panic move", as if we were expecting to do something. Are these guys in denial.....FRICK!!!

Lets suck like 03-04 and BAM!

I did! Minus generalizing conservatism to white people (which I noted was not accurate), what is wrong with this post?

You don't think the fans influence the team decisions?! Who is our fan base? Have you ever been to a Suns game live vs a Lakers game in LA and observed the people at the game?! It matters who your fan base is, thus who your team bring in as players....Suns' fans are to uppity and more concerned about what a player does off court as compared to what he does on the court.

It is what it is. We can get rid of all of the black players and no one says anything, Steve Nash....... We won't let Nash go because the "fan base" will not support the Suns...Who is our fan base....well at leaset the ones going to games?

So.... you're seriously suggesting that Sarver & co. haven't built a successful team because their tickets are sold to hyperconservative racists?

Although the premise is ridiculous on its face, I'd also point out that Grant Hill donated to Obama's campaign, and Nash was the guy with the No War shirt in the run-up to the Iraq War. And I'd bet that a real hyperconservative racist nutbag would freak that Chilly played in Greece and has an afro.
