What Would It Take For The Magic To Land Nash?

Post#1 » by Nolimit1211 » Mon Jan 2, 2012 3:41 pm

Like the title says.. do the Magic have any pieces that you guys would be interested in? Ryan Anderson is averaging 20ppg so far into the season and JJ Redick has also been a guy pulling wins for us, are either of them guys you guys may be interested in?

I don't think that Orlando has the pieces to get Nash. Redick and Anderson are nice players but we don't need him. I would be able to offer some cap relief by taking on Childress it would be another scenario. I'm not sure if Phoenix would take on Nelson.

Nash / Childress / Warrick
for
Nelson / Redick / Anderson / Pick

I'm not even sure if this would be an offer that Orlando would accept.

Beside Ryan, there's nothing that really interests the Suns imo. The like Reddick but not his contract and any trade to the Magic, Childress would need to ne included and I'm pretty sure that the Magic wouldn't want to inherit another bad contract.

What about Grant Hill? Would Hill stick around on a team without Nash?

Would something like...

Anderson, Redick, Nelson & Duhon For Nash, Hill & Childress be something you guys would consider?

Redick's next year of his contract is unguaranteed. So he is basically an expiring.

Are you a Magic fan? I can't imagine that their fans want Grant back.

Yes, I am.. He plays hard defense and brings things to the table that only a vet could ala Jason Kidd. As for the other Magic fans, most of them wouldn't trade Redick for Nash strait up so their homeristic view isn't important lol.

I just can't imagine Grant back in a Magic jersey. You have to at least take on Childress and keep your bad contracts to get Nash. Nelson was in my proposal because you took on Warrick and Childress.

I don't see any realistic trade between Suns and Magic without involving other teams. Anderson is the only player the Suns would be interested in and they wouldn't be looking to add guys with contracts lasting beyond this year(unless they were adding a top flight prospect/picks).

Personally if the Suns could get a deal that landed Anderson, a mid/late first round pick(perhaps future pick as well depending on how late the 1st round pick is) and shed Warrick and Frye for expirings I would do it. Frye could go to Orlando and fill a similar role as Anderson, just at a higher cost. I wouldn't be as eager to trade Childress because with his contract his value is lower than even Warrick's or Frye's harming any deal he is put in and if the Suns ever do need his money freed up they can just amnesty him.

First round pick, a young player, and expirings.

Anderson is your only tradeable expiring contract, and he is only 2 million. You guys just don't have the pieces for a trade to work for the Suns. Unless you throw in 2 first round picks.

Or we could make it a 3 way deal. But I'm too lazy to mess with the trade machine right now.

Redick is an expiring too.

Nash / Childress / Warrick
for
Nelson / Redick / Anderson / '13 pick

I would want a 'post-Dwight pick'. We are basically trading Redick, Anderson and the pick for Nash and our long term deals Warrick/Childress for a shoter contract in Nelson. I might do it.

Dwight Howard and get him to agree to sign a contract with PHX. Then you can have Nash or anyone you want on the Suns.

Nothing. And I cant believe you had the NERVE to include Du-Du-Duhon in a trade proposal including Steve Nash.

Magic have no pieces to offer for Steve Nash. Anyway, Nash isnt going anywhere either.

Umm, I think the suns need to consider almost any trade for nash and hill. This team is not going anywhere and lets admit it. suns need to find a steal if we are not getting picks back. I dont care if they are not lottery, but its time to rebuild this team going forward and with our pick, land a potential young superstar in the draft. Like Granthill said, I would rather have a post Dwight pick from them unprotected.

it would take an act of god. I don't see why Nash would want to go to Orlando.

I can figure out the Suns management. Why keep Nash? All he does is help you win enough games to keep your team out of the top 5 lotto picks. Its nuts.

Not only that but he's got to hate being there. The team sucks. The term 'rebuild' to him is crazy since he's 37. If I were Phx I'd be considering all offers for Nash.

That's not true.

Nash has loyalty, a rare quality found in basketball players these days.

Obviously Nash doesnt want to go, or he would have been gone already. Its Nash that you need to try to figure out.
