Nash backing up dwill?

Post#1 » by mikefly3113 » Wed Jan 11, 2012 10:57 pm

Alright dream scenario, we are able to convince dwight and dwill to come to phoenix. We all want Nash to win a championship and retire as a sun, I'm positive he wants the same things. Do you think if we were able to get two superstars Nash would sign for the veterans min and back up dwill? Two of the best pgs on one squad. championship.
I like Draft Picks/Cap Space, long walks on the beach, and short youtube clips.

If the Suns could convince two MEGASTARS to play for a small-to-mid market team here in Phoenix, well, I guess anything could happen.

Williams and Howard in the Valley are the pipe dream.

I would much rather try my best to convince Eric Gordon to come to AZ and then draft sf (Kidd-Gilchrist or Quincy Miller). Flip Robin Lopez for pick in 20-25 range if possible and draft Kabongo and we are pretty much set for present and future with 4 young studs in Gordon, MKG (or Miller), Morris and Kabongo.

Nash (resigned), Kabongo
Gordon, Dudley
Gilchrist, Hill
Morris, Warrick
Gortat, Frye

Chilldress should get amnestied. We can even give reasonable deal to Anthony Randolph who can give us more depth.

Here is what we do if we want to keep nash and have future

sign Gallinari for FA

Frye for OJ MAYO straight up

trade Lopez for late range pick

let Hill go to a contender

Amnesty Childress (good player but not in the suns system)

Draft Anthony Davis, Sullinger, or Perry Jones for our 1st pick

late pick from lopez trade

Marquis Teague or Kabongo

our roster

pg- Nash, Kabongo or Teague
sg- Mayo, Brown
sf- Gallinari DUdley
pF- Rookie PF,Morris
C- Gortat, rookie PF

( I could have reversed that phrased ya know.)

Atlanta for example, Frank.

Horford and Lopez could be nice combo.

Frank Lee he isnt that great this year and I am the one saying he is horrible as well as you.

But a 7 fter for a decent contract to be a bench possibly starter on a different offense will be attractive to some teams

Beas4pres I like some of your trades, but how do we draft Davis, Sullinger or any of the other highly sought picks? Suns would have to have a major tank this year to get a top 5 pick, and I just don't see that happening. We might end up with a 12 - 16 pick and that won't get us the young stud we need.

How am i dreaming?? you think you know a lot and are some kind of genious. I am not buying it.

Is it possible suns get a top 5 pick!!! YES IT IS but the odds arent in our favor. Any lottery team can be picked in any order!

so FRYE for Mayo = DREAMING zzzzzzzz not really that benefits both teams

also Lopez to a team like Celtics/Bulls/Magic/Lakers/Hawks for a late 1st round isnt a bad trade so that is a wide awake approach

then signing Gallinari to a big deal isnt such a dream he would strive and love the system here!!!

GOOD ONE MAN you are a genious!! i wish i knew as much as you

I am so tired of this. Phoenix is the #12 media market in the US. It is larger than Miami. It is twice as large as Mil, Clev, San Ant, or SLC. The size of the Phoenix market is not an issue.

This is a valid point. We are a fairly big market with great weather during basketball season. Most of these guys have other places and homes to go to during the offseason so they would be able to get away from the heat in AZ. If big names don't want to come to Phoenix its def. things like the FO, our owner and their previous mistakes that keep them away.

IMHO, Phoenix is at least mid-to-big market. It's not so hard to bring any primadonna to the town. I think that Howard & DWill scenario (or any other combo-star signing) is really possible. Suns - good market, great fans, tradition, nice weather, girls are NOT THAT FAT :))))))))

Everybody was a genius to Forrest Gump.

Occasionally think from the other side of the fence, or in your case, the other end of the teeter totter.

PS... I did have a breakdown of my reasons for disagreeing with your GM-manship. Then I realized you seldom take others opinions into consideration, so why bother. You can pretty much go back in old threads and read very good commentary about all that you want/ say to do.... if you so choose. Half of them were likely directed to you anyway. And you do know other teams have sites too here right? Often they are a good source of information.
Now run along lil Beas, and dont forget your lunch money.

I can see Babby outlining just such a proposal. I think the simple fact that DHoward has selected the 3 teams he wants to be on is all the writing on the wall you need. Lets just hope NJ ponies up big. The thought of another decade of the 'dominant' center in LA curdles my milk.

Memphis has Gasol/Haddadi at C and Speights/Cunningham/Gay(Z-Bo/Arthur) at PF. Makes so much sense to trade their 6th man for another PF.

Beas4pres wrote:also Lopez to a team like Celtics/Bulls/Magic/Lakers/Hawks for a late 1st round isnt a bad trade so that is a wide awake approach

Have you seen Lopez play lately? He has no trade value whatsoever. And WTF Bulls need a scrub like Lopez when they have Noah, Asik, Boozer and Gibson?

Beas4pres wrote:then signing Gallinari to a big deal isnt such a dream he would strive and love the system here!!!

Gallinari will be a RFA. I'm pretty sure Denver will match any offer.

Hah, imagine if we landed a stud PG and PF combo for next season. Or starting lineup could almost become our bench:

PG/ Nash
Redd/ Dudley
Childress/ Hill
PF/ Morris
Gortat/ Frye

The problem is not the city, its the owner. I think that is why Babby is treating Nash with such care. He knows that free agents are going to call Steve to ask about how life is here. He wants Nash to give a glowing report. Babby's experience as an agent has taught him how players think and what is really important to them.

I actually have been looking at it and if we can get Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Harrison Barnes or Terrence Jones for SF position in our first pick

Then if we trade Lopez for a late pick for a 1st round we can get a PG like Kobongo, Teague or Marshall.

sign eric gordon in offseason and anthony randolph and javale mcgee (is that possible)????? someone help me with the Salary wise

amnesty childress (childress is good and i like him but he doesnt fit the SUNS)

pg- Nash, Rookie PG
sg- gordon, dudley
sf- rookie sf, hill
pf-Morris, Randolph (split minutes to develop)
C-Gortat, Mcgee (split minutes)

I think if we can get something like this we could have a bright future.

Return to Phoenix Suns
