Russell Westbrook

Post#1 » by SunsRback4Good » Tue Jan 17, 2012 1:28 am

Is it just me or does Russell Westbrook resemble Kevin Johnson's game? I've been watching him past few years and notice how he isn't shy of contact and loves taking it inside. I would love to see him in a Suns uniform. :(

How many point guard threads do you need to make? And no, RW does not remind me of KJ, that is almost blasphemous.

Okay, geez sorry I guess I'm the only who thinks that. I'll just stick to my game threads. :(

Similar athletically but Russell isn't close to the passer KJ Was. Maybe KJ with %50 of the passing game?

Its not that, its just that this is exactly why we already have a thread about future PG's, that incidentally you made. You could have simply made a post in that thread instead of creating an entirely new thread. 3 sentences is a reply, not a new thread.

KJ was amazing and the best PG in a suns uni but he was injury prone!

KJ's mid range/first step made him nearly unguardable 1 on 1...Westbrook hasn't developed a consistent jumper and still makes BAD decisions waaaay too often...

KJ was a better player but Westbrook is probably the greatest athlete to ever play the position.

No, the guy in the league most like KJ is Chris Paul....pass first, but can shoot...good defender, and injury prone. Chris Paul is a little better in some areas, but I've always thought there games were very similar.

Of course I am thinking more of the 88-92 KJ...once Barkley arrived he was a little bit of a ball stopper and wanted the offense to go through him (which would be like Paul joining teams with, say, Carmelo. ..he would likely be less effective because ball movement would suffer)

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Westbrook just signed a five-year, $78 million-plus max extension with Oklahoma City.

The Thunder giving Westbrook a MAX 5 yr deal is ignorant. First off, he's not worth MAX. Second, if I was the Thunder, I would've let Westbrook go look for a MAX 4 yr MAX deal from another team and Matched it to keep him. They would've saved a lot more money.

On top of that, Nash is a free agent as years end. Thunder would be a great place for Nash to aspire for the Ring.

westbrook just signed an 80 million dollar extension....ya...hes not coming to phx. neither is kevin love, as he will sign a max deal with Minnesota.

Time for suns fans to start salivating over the next batch of free agents.
