Nash trade assuming he wants to (1000 thread on this)

Post#1 » by Sunsdeuce » Sun Feb 5, 2012 5:44 pm

What the best the suns can get? Only bringing this up because of the recent report that the suns are open to whatever Nash wants.

On Dudley; there was a time when suns fans said he shouldn't be traded. Has those thoughts changed? I think he is a really good complimentary player with great players around him.

Good role player on his contract year shows signs of improvement and passion. Any role player in first year of new deal is just what he is: a role player. Sometimes he's just mediocre.

What do you mean "recent reports" that Suns are open to trading Nash if thats what he wants?

Havent the Suns been saying since LAST SEASON that they WILL trade Nash if HE DEMANDS A TRADE?

How is that "recent"?

Nash is too classy to demand a trade, so this is the textbook definition of a non-story.

Despite the Suns' struggles, Steve Nash has yet to express an interest in being traded, league sources said. But the organization will try to accommodate Nash's wishes if the 37-year-old foundation of the franchise decides he'd like a chance to compete for a championship with a contender. "It's really on him in terms of what he wants to do or not do," a person with knowledge of the situation said. Nash, who turns 38 next week, will be an unrestricted free agent July 1. CBSSports.com

Hey Philly Sixer fan here, short time AZ resident (Mesa), long time Steve Nash fan...
Why would he want to leave Phoenix? It's the perfect place for him to be and I think you guys still have a very very good point guard with him moving forward. I see Nash playing till he's 40-42 and doing it at the same level John Stockton was able to do it at. As long as he's playing well, why get rid of him? Phoenix is just a classy organization led by a classy player in Nash and I really respect how the team has handled the situation with him. I realize it's a rebuilding phase for you guys right now but I don't see any reason at all why the rebuild can't continue with Nash still home in Phoenix. At this point what would the return be and would it actually be worth it?
New York seems to have interest but what can they offer in return? They don't have a lot of good prospects right now.
Either way if Nash is traded I hope he stays out west...It's where he belongs.

Well the wiretap mentioned it. So its re-circulating.

They picked it up from CBSsports.com

I think the Suns Organization really wants to tank this season. Im talking full blown tank, and they just cant do that with Nash on the roster. So they keep putting it out there that they would trade him, if only Nash asks for it, in hopes that Nash will indeed ask for one.

So thats why there is "recent talk" about it.

The WireTap article re-states what has been said about 1000 times before. If Nash requests a trade, Suns will honor that request and trade him. If he doesn't request a trade, Suns will not trade him....period. As a matter of fact, Babby has said the organization wants Nash to retire a Sun and go into the Ring of Honor.

If you want to tank hard, then trade Gortat :) . A Gortat-less Suns team would be incredibly awful. Nash could be relied on to get 16 ppg, but other than that who else could be relied on to score or rebound?

If you trade Nash+Gortat :o , I shudder to think of the depths of tanking-ness into which the Suns would descend.
