Re: Diaw Buyout
He is probably one of the best PF/C acquisitions we could make this late in the season. He'll know much of the offensive system. Can shoot the 3-ball, rebound, handle the ball, make assists, and play pretty good defense. Would be able to help out the Suns in the event of a Frye/Morris/Lopez/Gortat injury.

I'd say the Suns will take a look and so will Diaw.

Ya I would take diaw back. Hes another solid role player that will help bench and has decent ball handling.

He knows our system and has played well with Nash, we can at the very least try him out again.

Re: Diaw Buyout
Great... another low post player who won't dunk.
Vintage Diaw: Driving the lane for a wide open dunk - kicks out to the three point line for a contested long ball.

I would love Diaw back. Although he was not as aggressive as you like, he was a very good passer, a very smart player, an efficient shooter, and had good post moves. He would def be an upgrade for us.

Are we talking about current day Diaw or Diaw circa 2006? I'll take the latter, sure.

Sure we can tempt him with croissants and young girls to get him in Phx.
Looking forward to the 28-29 season.

Re: Diaw Buyout
I know this puts me in the minority, but I'm really, really hoping that we DO sign him ASAP.
He knows our system. He's played with Nash for 2.5 years. He played with Grant for half a season. He knows Gentry.
He's not as aggressive as he once was(if you can believe it he's somehow become more passive), and he's ballooned to a pretty astronomical size, but the man can STILL PLAY when he decides to show up:

He'd instantly be the most talented(I'm not saying BEST, because he doesn't really apply himself all the time) PF on the team. Even if he refuses to shoot, Bobcats fans still say he's decent on defense. I don't know if he can guard PGs like he used to(remember when he shut down Tony Parker in Game 4 of the Spurs series in 08?), but he's a good post defender. His passing and court vision haven't left him. We've always wanted another facilitator on the court who ISN'T Bassy, right?
Boris Diaw is that man.

Re: Diaw Buyout
I'm not against Diaw....I think he would be a better point guard for the Suns than Telfair. He would play Point on offense, and 4 on D for our bench unit. I could see him playing well with Childress (crazy thought to play Childress, and raise his value).
Why not....can't hurt
Nash/Diaw
Dudley/Brown/Childress
Hill/Redd/Childress
Frye/Morris
Gortat/Lopez
Yeah....looking at the lineups, it would make sense to run Childress with Diaw instead of Redd. It could be a poor man's Diaw to Marion type scenario. I could even see the Suns running a 2-3 zone with the bench lineup.
I know....I'm nuts..

Nash likes him but Suns likely to pass like Diaw. RT @rick_bonnell: Detail on the Bobcats & Diaw agreeing to a buyout: http://bit.ly/GDNvBx

@Billando @dahking Nash would probably like him back & Diaw keeps a home & businesses in Phoenix but I don’t think the brass is interested.

I'm a Diaw hater, but seriously he'd be a good addition. Not sure why we wouldn't take a flyer on him, especially because of the chemistry he'd add with being close with Nash.

Jesus, pick him up. Low risk, low cost, might get him back on track
even fat as he is, I saw him play very well this year.
Rebounds, plays D, excellent facilitator, plays multiple positions .....

If that's true, our "brass" isn't real bright. We say we want Nash next year. In order to do that, we will need to make Nash happy. We have an opportunity to sign one of his best friends, for near nothing, that might actually help the team.
The drawback is.....
A little help?
