Guys, we knew we weren't going to make it through this gauntlet of a season totally healthy. I was hoping it wouldn't be Nash, Gortat, or Hill, but what can you do? With our defensive stopper out, we can probably kiss the playoffs good-bye.

It's a bummer.

Didn't Anthony Davis just have a knee issue? :o

Bummer, you have to love how much Hill turned his season around. :( Totally like Hill, and he being my birthday brother, this team will suffer greatly without him.

Well more Redd, whoopie! There goes the year. Gentry cant get the rotation right and will continue to throw Redd and Warrick out there. Los Soles has already pointed out that those two are some of the worst in the league.

Now if Gentry can somehow pull his head out of his arse, and play a steady diet of Price and Chilldress, we might be able to pull it out. We'll need defense, and he'll play Redd. :(

Fire Gentry! If we don't get better on the court we'll be better on draft day. There are only a few teams that just can't win this season.

1 more straw just got placed on the camels already broken back. It's as if god himself is shaking our fanbase saying wake up, the Nash era is over.

I do feel bad for Hill though with his injury history and turnaround I was hoping he could finish this year and maybe 1 more without getting hurt. He's such a nice guy - oh well.

I don't know but my hopes for the playoffs just disappeared. No way we'll make it without our best defender. Please don't get the 14th pick in the draft.

Playoff Rush 70% vs 30% Tankers ...

Hill gets injured...

Playoff Rush 30% vs 70% Tankers ... including myself.

I know it is too late to make a decent tank now, but still, whatever we can get out of it should be taken, given that playoffs are a distant dream within this new context. Besides Hill's injury, imagine the morale of the team losing him...

Yup...season's over.

More Redd=terrible idea.
Price at SG=terrible idea.
Signing Brooks for like 2 weeks=terrible idea.

Looks like our only option is...

Grant Hill had surgery this morning for torn medial meniscus. Hopes to be back in 2 wks-that would be pretty optimistic

There is absolutely no need to see more of Telfair and Price, and there is absolutely no need to sign Brooks.

The FO decided to pay Childress big money, now let's give him an opportunity for once.
Put him in the starting lineup next to Dudley, have Dudley move to the 3 when you want Brown/Redd in the game. Childress should see a good 25 minutes a game while Hill is gone, if he can't produce even at that point, amnesty his ass.

Let Telfair/Price battle it out for backup point minutes and NOTHING more. No playing them at SG, no playing them together, none of that. Don't bother with Brooks, he's going to be an overpaid chucking disappointment as always.

The chances we make the playoffs were relatively low....so this may be a good thing. Chilly will get some burn with Nash....could possibly raise his value. We get a better pick. All in all, I think this is good.

Good discussion of our options both in the article and in the comments

I agree that the Suns should give Childress some minutes now with Hill gone. We had a glut of wingmen before but with our starter out Chill needs to be givin a chance and I dont mean 3 minutes a game maybe 12-15. If he doesnt play well we lose nothing but if we does play well it can only improve our chances of unloading his contract.

I am glad you are coming around to my way of thinking. :D But there is very little chance that A) Chill gets minutes because Gentry is inept and B) if he does, there is very little chance he will make a team want his three years remaining at almost seven million a year. :(

I agree with B no team is going to want his contract but I have to disagree with all of your Gentry hate. All im saying is there is alot going on in the locker room and off the court that we nor the media dont see. He is not perfect but I like him more than D'Antoni; he is willing to try new things and he well liked by the players. Even vets Nash and Hill say he's done a great a great coaching job and im not going to pretend to know more than they do about the innerworkings of the club.

There is more to coaching than just calling timeouts at the right time. I believe he understands his players and is able to get alot out of them which is a sign of a good coach; despite our crappy season we have every single player on board 100% and believing in their team. Give the guys some credit rundog. He even did something I didnt think that was possible by getting Brown and Telfail to buy into the system and by the second half of the season they really started to improve and come around.
