Suns to go hard after deron williams if nash leaves

I persally do not want him. The man lacks loyalty and honor. Thats huge for me. He is all about the money. That to me is a very bad sign. On top of that he forced a legendary coach to quit.
Sure he is talented but the negatives out weigh the talent. I can see that if things went bad in phx he would force a exit and hold the organization hostage. No thanks!!
But there has been enough buzz about Nash leaving the Suns, after he played his eighth season in Phoenix, that Phoenix has come up with a contingency plan for his exit. Going into this weekend, the Suns view the Knicks, Raptors and even the Nets as their biggest competitors for Nash’s services. They are operating under the assumption that Nash will not go to a contender, although he has interest in Miami, where he would have to accept a lot less money than he will get to stay in Phoenix. “If they lose Steve, then they plan to go after Deron, hard,” said a person with knowledge of the Suns’ plans. “They know he loves golf and they’re going to try to sell him on going out there.” New York Daily News

http://www.iamagm.com/news/2012/06/02/s ... um=twitterI, personally, don't like Deron's attitude lately. But I wouldn't pass on him. I'd love to see him in a Suns uniform.

Deron used to be one of my favorite players in the NBA and so was Dwight, now look what happened. You guys shouldn't sign him because If Nash couldn't bring the scrub supporting cast you guys have to the playoffs then Deron can't (last year with New Jersey).

It's bad when Karl Malone says d Williams made Sloan quit. Then he possible will be on his third team in less than 5 years.
Not good signs!

I am torn on the issue. Deron doesnt sign unless he knows we can get Dwight. Therefor we need to obtain Howard. Orlando would love to have Gortat back, but other than him we have little to offer. Dudley/Morris/#13/2013 1st (protected). I dont think that is enough to get Howard. Maybe if Orlando knew the Suns would trade them a S&T Nash for a salary dump? BBD/Duhon?
That would be 2 trades that pretty much equal out to:
Howard/BBD/Duhon for Gortat/Nash/Dudley/Morris/#13/2013 1st (Protected).
Nash/Nelson
Jrich/Reddick/Q
Hedo/Dudley/Clark
Anderson/Morris
Gortat/?????
Thats just to get Howard. Then we sign Deron. Cool, got them both, but now our roster is:
Deron/Telfair/Duhon
??????/???????
???????/Childress
Frye/BBD
Howard/Lopez
We will have close to $40M tied up in 2 players. Cap is expected to be $62M. That future doesnt look that bright. With how the new CBA is structured having that much money tied up in 2 players is a killer. Better option is to draft right and develop your own stars instead of killing your roster and salary cap by paying Max money for someone elses developed star. Having a great player on his rookie scale contract for 4 years is great way to start building a team. Usually after their rookie deal is up they tend to get a deal around 10M or so max(if they are that good).
In the next 5 years i dont think we will be seeing $16-$20M a year deals being offered anymore.

Who cares what Malone has to say. Dude is straight Scum. He knocked up a 12 year old when he was 20.
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1184511And wasnt it Malone that was at ends with the Jazz recently? Oh yeah, i remember, Malone said that DWiLL made Sloan quit, but that wasnt what had actually happened, but Malone didnt care and kept talking s**t.
http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/ ... -end-feud/Malone was “high-maintenance,” “unreliable” and “unstable.”

And a big LOL at Deron being "on his third team in less than 5 years". You say it like its a bad thing. Like none of those teams wanted him.

Maybe we could get Josh Smith without giving up Gortat. Maybe Lopez, Dudley, Warrick, #13...
Amnesty Childress and sign Deron leaving us over 10M to spend, sign Wallace...
DWill
?
Wallace
Smith
Gortat
Dreaming is free.

But Brooklyn Nets also have to fear Dallas Mavericks

NEW YORK DAILY NEWS
Saturday, June 2, 2012, 3:35 PM
The Suns have started planning for life after Steve Nash if their two-time MVP opts to come to New York or heads to Toronto when he becomes a free agent on July 1.
Brooklyn fans — it’s strange to write that — won’t like it, but the Suns are going to go all out for Deron Williams.
The Suns’ first choice is to bring Nash back and have the greatest player in franchise history play his final game in Phoenix. They’re hopeful that a two-year, $20 million deal does the trick, and if they add a third season that would probably cinch it since it would take Nash through his 41st birthday.
“They know he loves golf and they’re going to try to sell him on going out there.”
Meanwhile, the Mavericks remains the team the Nets have to fear more than any other when it comes to losing Williams. He’s been at the top of their free-agent wish list since before they won the title last June and owner Mark Cuban will “pull out all stops” to bring Williams home, according to a team source.

Its always worth a try... doubt it happens though. We would have to get Dwight and we just don't have the pieces to do so.

Deron Williams knows what he's doing. Unless we get DRAMATICALLY improve our team, he's not coming here.

The only way we would lose Nash is if we didn't muster up a respectable team to put around him.
Having said that, why would Deron come here if we can't even field a team around Nash well enough to keep him home?
Having said that, did we just start a new thread based off an article from NY Daily News???
Go outside and play guys.
