David Stern on Jim Rome Show

What's everyone's thoughts on David Stern's appearance on the Jim Rome Show today?
If you're not familiar with what happened, check out this ESPN article:
http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/8048426/nba-commissioner-david-stern-radio-host-jim-rome-get-lottery or listen to the interview here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yi2kH4U7E8ABasically, when asked straight up if the NBA Draft Lottery was rigged, Stern got very hostile and defensive and then asked Rome, "Have you stopped beating your wife yet?"
Obviously, that is a very inappropriate thing to ask (and Rome has never been accused of spousal abuse or anything of that nature).
Personally, this is no way for a person is Stern's position to act publicly. He should be held to a higher standard. If he didn't like the question, that's understandable, but he should have taken the high road and calmly explained why he felt that was a crazy question.
Instead, I'm lead to believe more than ever that the Lottery (among many other things in the NBA) is fixed. A reaction like that from Stern seems to indicate he's hiding something. Either way, I think it's long past time we get a new Commisioner (and one that's NOT Adam Silver!)
Finally, I liked the part of the interview (not included in the ESPN story) where, after Stern implies the Lottery question was a 'cheap trick', Jim Rome says to David Stern:
"No,
flopping is a cheap trick."
To which Stern got more angry and said he needed to take a call from Stephen A. Smith. lol

Let me help with this one:
A loaded question is a question which contains a controversial or unjustified assumption, e.g., a presumption of guilt.
Aside from being a logical fallacy, such questions may be used as a rhetorical tool: the question attempts to limit direct replies to be those that serve the questioner's agenda. The traditional example is the question
"Have you stopped beating your wife?" Whether the respondent answers yes or no, he will admit to having a wife, and having beaten her at some time in the past. Thus, these facts are presupposed by the question, and in this case an entrapment, because it narrows the respondent to a single answer, and the fallacy of many questions has been committed.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loaded_questionIn the end, David Stern felt offended that Rome would ask such a question, and returned the favor. I don't think he meant to be malicious, it just sounded awkward on the air.

Ah - The article you linked explains the loaded question. Never mind then.

Stern knows where the bodies are buried.
Still, the best Rome interview:

Stern's a piece of sht. He never even responded to the question about why people may thinks it's fixed. Televise it live and that ends the speculation. I know he's corrupt and he needs to step down to save the league.

Caliendo can be really funny. That's good. I'm not a Stern fan, but I can understand him why he did what he did. I'd be sick of people asking the question too. Any way you answer it, people aren't going to believe you, and that's what he threw back at Rome.
Neither question is really fair. I'd try to explain here why the lottery can't be fixed again, but it people don't change their minds on the subject so it's pointless.

Thank god someone who actually tried to stand up to that crazy old fart. Rome actually asked a question everyone wants an answer to.
Stern was great for the NBA in the 80s and early 90s. Since then he has done nothing good to improve the NBA. His recent additions to the NBA have been failures ie moving the three point line in then moving it back to it's original spot to bringing in a crappy basketball just to see it fail and bring back the leather ball. He has been a failure to the NBA fan for the last 15-20 years.
He has become a grumpy old fart out of touch with modern society!
NBA needs to bring in fresh blood with new ideas not sterns assistants to take his place.
NFL has the best commish.

To David stern
About your secret lottery room
Secrets lead to speculations
Speculations leads to accusations
Accusations lead to mistrust
Exactly what you have become !!

Brilliant reply on Stern's part - but he needs to be put out to pasture.

More reporters should be slapped down as a warning to others - what a prick

David Stern's vision has helped the NBA become the worldwide sport it is but he's an egotistical snake and has to go. I don't see it happening anytime soon though.

On the bright side he is gettin up in years and nobody beats father time. Even though im not a big Stern fan (if there is such a thing) but honestly I see this as a sports journalist trying to be inflamatory to make the headlines - and he was successfull. I'm glad Stern responded like a sarcastic prick, Rome's question and tone were complete trolling. Just like he was in that other vid.
Seriously this isnt a story. This doesnt prove anything was rigged; it just proves that sensationalism gets you ratings. Now if Rome was a serious reporter and had some evidence or testimony that would be another thing but that clearly isnt the case here.

He's used the "have you stopped beating your wife" phrase before. I believe it was during the Donaghy scandal.
He's just a dick.
