Do you think the Suns will make the playoffs?

Pretty simple question. Its obviously premature since we haven't even see this team play a game together yet but just wanted to know what everyone's thoughts are on this team.

I may just be too optimistic but I do see this team making the playoffs. I feel like Gentry will get through to Beasley and make him the player he was supposed to be when he was drafted by Miami. Dragic should be able to run the team as well or better than he did with the Rockets last season. Gortat, despite what anyone else says, imo will continue to perform well even without Nash. Scola will be a solid low post scorer for us and will be that legit PF we have been looking for since the 2009 season.

And the bench unit led by Kendall Marshall should be as strong as the 2010 bench unit especially if Wes Johnson can show that he belongs in this league because of his play and not his draft selection.

I'm thinking #7 -#8 seed with the ceiling being the #6 seed.

What say you?

If anyone thinks this team will make the playoffs I would be happy to place a real life wager.

A little birdie told me this is Gentry's last season coaching the Suns. Sarver will bring in a new coach.

Doubt the suns make the playoffs. It takes time to get a team to play together. Bet some of the early games in the season we get blown out a few times. Especially gonna be tough getting Beasley into the offense. It seems like he likes to hold onto the ball and go 1 on 1. Only thing I see going well right off the bat is the pick n roll game of Dragic with Gortat/Scola. Defensively we are going to get torched by guys like Kobe, durant, ginobili. We dont have the athletes on the wing to stay in front of them unless wes johnson gets his **** together.

I say suns win about 32 games.

Nope. But I'll have fun sitting back knowing we're not going in with expectations and we'll be fun to watch at least, and we know there's light at the end of the tunnel with those picks and that capspace...I think

Never judge a book by its cover. Specially its under cover.

We wont make the playoffs for the next few years. Only way that happens is if there is mass injuries to the other teams. I say maybe 3 or 4 years and we should be back in contention.

I really doubt it.

OKC
Spurs
Lakers
Clippers
Memphis

Are all pretty much locks. After them comes

Denver
Utah
Who havent lost any major pieces and should in theory only get better with their young pieces improving.

Dallas had massive roster exodus that leaves them with Dirk + role players yet again. Big question marks.

Minnesota should be improved if Rubio can come back strong.

GSW should be better with Barnes and a hopefully healthy Bogut and Curry. Plus Thompson is awesome.

Portland got better. I think Lillard will win the ROY and they could be in the mix for playoffs.

New Orleans I'm not sure on. They might have more glaring roster holes than we do with their point guard and center situations lackluster at best

Sacramento is fail. The only team I know for sure we'll be better than.

I really don't think we'll make the playoffs, the west is too strong and we have more question marks than almost every team out west.

Kings - Brooks/Thornton/Evans/Robinson/Cousins
Hornets - Rivers/Gordon/Aminu/Davis/Lopez
Blazers - Lillard/Matthews/Batum/Aldridge/Leonard
Warriors - Curry/Thompson/Barnes/Lee/Bogut
Nuggets - Lawson/Afflalo/Gallo/Faried/McGee
Rockets - Lin/Lamb/Parsons/Motiejunas/Asik
Wolves - Rubio/Roy/Budinger/Love/Pekovic
Grizz - Conley/Allen/Gay/ZBO/Gasol
Mavs - Collison/Mayo/Marion/Dirk/Kamen
Jazz - MoWill/Hayward/Millsap/Favors/Jefferson
Clippers - CP3/Billups/Butler/Griffin/Jordan

Then you have the Lakers/Thunder/Spurs

There will be alot of good teams in the west next year. :o

IMO, we'll be better than all those teams I just bolded. SAC is still way too undisciplined and their roster has way too many ?s. Hornets have Rivers at PG and LOWpez as the starting center...enough said. Plus I don't expect Davis to make a big contribution his 1st year, he's one of those guys who it will take time with. Blazers roster is basically the exact same as last year except for the addition of two rookies and I only see one making an impact on their team his rookie season, Lillard. Considering how awful they were last year, I don't think Lillard can be the one guy to make them from awful to playoff team. Warriors are gonna have injuries. Bogut and Curry won't last long, that's a given. Rockets are kinda like us in that they have a lot of new guys with ?s but incredible potential. I think Dragic being better than Lin will put us over the top though. Having watched Collison play a lot, I can tell yall that he's a guy who needs the ball in his hand to be effective. He needs to be the one making the passes and everything etc and that won't happen with Mayo. I expect them to flop big time. Mo is trash and a locker room cancer. However, Utah is really young and has a lot of potential so them along with Houston are the only teams that I'm worried about. BTW, Marvin Williams is their starting SF not Millsap.

Portland and Dallas will surprise people this year. Blazers will take Utah's spot IMO.

I really don't think that's true. Both Babby and Dragic cited Gentry's relationship with Goran as THE crucial factor in Goran coming home. They're not going to ditch him so soon.
