"Former Arizona State star James Harden would consider signing with the Suns..."
Try sensationalizing things more next time...

I would be so pumped if Harden came to PHX!!!
OKC doesn't have enough money to sign him to a max right??

Rather of had Eric Gordon...

This has a realistic chance because we can't afford him unless a trade and OKC won't let him go for nothing. I'm sure it would cost Dudley, Frye and a buttload of picks which I'd do in a heartbeat. If not at least the Suns are getting positive attention. It could also be motivation from Harden to get OKC to pony up a max offer.

I'd rather have Harden
He's been improving each year and hasn't had the injury concerns that Gordon has. Plus he has legitimate shooting guard size.

Noel is no center! He's tissue soft and paper thin!

I could never compare to the rugged good looks of Tom Leander.

I like Harden, but not for the max. 10mil a year at most. I don't think he's a true leader either.

Max contracts aren't what they used to be.

I'd throw max at Harden easy if we offered Gordon max. Harden isn't as much a pure scorer but he's a better passer and playmaker.

We just found our future all star free agent shooting guard. There was no reason for him to come out and say anything unless he wanted Phoenix to know that he had interest in them so they wouldn't use next years lottery pick on a 2 guard.
Hell yes.
For him to come out with nothing to gain and single us out like this is definetly a good sign.

Or, you know, a reporter asked him something along the lines of "Would you consider going back home and signing with the Suns after this year if you can't workout an extension with the Thunder?" Pretty sure Harden didn't just come out and say this out of the blue.

Thats what was said about NY and Lin as well.
The difference between the Harden situation and the Gordon situation is cap space. New Orleans had plenty of space, where OKC doesnt. Batums offer was matched, because Portland has the space. Lin's contract wasnt matched because New York doesnt.
The similarity's between NY and OKC dont end there. Lin was pretty much the 4th best player on the Knicks. They were already paying a s**tload of cash to Stat/Melo/Chandler and dont have that much money to spend to keep their 4th best player. So they didnt match and used the money to fill in other roster holes.
OKC has the vast majority of their money invested in Durant/Westbrook/Perkins. They will also have to worry about re-signing Ibaka at the same time as Harden. They really dont have the money to spend on their 3rd/4th best player (or at least have as much money to spend as other teams.).
Now other teams that were able to retain their stars (Batum/Gordon), were able to do so as those were the teams top players. Not too many other star players on those teams are taking up huge amounts of capspace like in NY and OKC.
With all that being said, the most likely scenario i see is OKC doing a S&T either before the trade deadline or after the season, where we end up giving up Gortat, and since we are under the cap, able to send back less salary to OKC, thus allowing them to get/sign other players that they want with the resulting TPE.
Westbrook/Sefalosha/Durant/Ibaka/Gortat
