C´s fan that come in peace

You guys drafted Scola and beasley and both are PF ( well beasley could play Sf) what you guys think it would happend. I follow beasley since day 1 since he went to same college. I ´m just think he could click but with scola there i just dunno and want to know what you guys thought.

We didn't draft either. We signed Beasley and Scola.

As for those two playing together, it shouldn't be an issue. They may both be PF's (depending on how you view Beasley) but they have totally different games. One plays more like a versatile 3 while the other is more a traditional post up 4. I think them two playing together is actually a good thing since Scola adds a different dimension to our game which we haven't had in a while and that's a back to basket big man. Beasley bring that athleticism and the ability to put the ball on the floor anywhere from 3PT in where he prefers to operate. There's only a small area on the court where both of their games actually intersect. Both guys have size and with those two on the court, offensively, we can get it done anywhere on the floor. Where Beasley lacks defense, toughness and basketball IQ, Scola has that covered. Where Scola lacks in athleticism, Beasley brings that in bounds.

If you look purely based on your perception of their position, then obviously it would seem like a double up at the 4.

Scola is unquestionably the better player.

Not sure what the question is here, but they both should start.... Beasley at the 3, and Scola at the 4. I don't see them stepping on each others toes if that is what you're asking.

Well chap, I like to suppose they are a swell combination with Beasley at the 3, and Scola at the 4.

I still think Beasley has the potential to be a top PF. Kinda like Chris Bosh, they are both finesse players.
Beasley needs get a bit stronger, then he might be able to get 20/11 like Bosh

Beasley is far from an NBA 4. His rebounding numbers were good in college due to size and athleticism he had over other college players. He is an NBA 3 but could be a stretch 4 on a team with a small rotation. I can definitely see him being a 20ppg plus guy but 10 rebounds not a chance.

agreed. He is best suited playing the 4. Defensively and offensively he is better at the 4 spot.

Beasley definitely would be amazing at the four. I imagine there are many players out there who don't want to guard a guy like that playing PF.

Sure if you have a team that has a strong defensive C, but on the Suns that would be a poor interior D. Beasley is a horrible defender.

I dunno, man, we'll see how he does in the Phoenix environment but to date, he's played some 4 and hasn't been a credible offensive threat there. Scola, on the other hand, is a notable offensive weapon at the 4.

Beasley suffers from hybrid syndrome.

I'll say this of Beasley:

In Phoenix, he's going to an offensive-focused system with a PG who doesn't suck. Dragic has had some success here (and elsewhere, really) before and knows what he's doing. Gentry knows what to do with a PG in order to give them the opportunity to succeed and Beasley can shoot open jumpers at a pretty solid rate. His problems have more to do with not attacking effectively in bulk when he isolates and such.

The Suns aren't apt to be very good defensively, not that this is new from the last few years, so if they're running Frye/Scola/Beasley/WesJ/Dragic at times, that's going to be some very advantageous spacing for pick-and-pops and the like, which could help the Beez out a lot... and maybe he's the stretch 4 when Frye sits and Gortat comes in.

There's the possibility that he'll be utilized in a manner which will work; it's not like the Suns haven't effectively employed Jared Dudley, right? He's not exactly Gheorge Muresan in height either.

As a former big Beas fan, I apologize in advance cause i got a feeling he'll suck bigtime this year again, though it would be great if he could prove me wrong - but been there, done that several times already.
