I spoke with a person at the company that is making our uniforms and got some information on them.

The person has seen them, or the final sketches anyways.
They are, as they put it, "phasing out purple." I was not happy about this.
Away jerseys are now black, home is white, alternate is orange. I said "make home orange" they said, "we werent allowed too"

I asked about the shoulders, after telling them about how bad our "shoulder pads" are..."thats all up to adidas, we dont do any of that"

"So what do they look like," an excited Scubetrolis asked. "Pretty much like the new court," an uninterested employee replied.

The person seemed to have about 0 interest in the topic, though seemed to love my enthusiasm. The person also noted that they do read message boards regarding jerseys, specifically mentioning "uni-watch" or something.

It kind of makes me think our away jerseys will look like Halloween....black with orange PHOENIX lettering.

After seeing the court up close and in person I have to admit I kinda like it...a lot, so if the jerseys are just as cool, and also re-introducing black jerseys, I should be satisfied with them.

Great info. What you said is pretty much what I was expecting the new uniforms to look like. Obviously they're going to use the new wordmark seen on the home court (it's the same type of lettering in "SUNS" at center court, "PHOENIX" under the baselines and the "PHX" on the bird logo). I guess we'll have to see how the stripes on the sides look and if they've decided to update/modify the flaming Suns basketball logo. I'm still hoping the uniforms have a retro look and feel to them, something similar to what they had from 1968-1991.

The person I talked with personally designed another jersey (usually always shows up in the "best uniform" threads) that is being used currently in the NBA. I am being discreet because I have no idea what information they were supposed to give me....if any lol.

Really bums me out... purple and orange are a fantastic and unique combo. Black and orange are... ugly. I cant think of a team in any sport who I think looks good in that garbage.

i love purple and orange...i dont really think orange and black is ugly, its just not the suns.



this is why were purple and orange, it makes sense.

I'll miss the Purple, but the jersey descriptions do sound pretty good.

Black-(orange) aways sound pretty awesome. Not quite sure about the home white-(orange).

Sorry if I missed it in another thread but can anyone explain our FO's sudden hatred of the color purple?

Orange and Black....The Bengals uni's look good with the all black and the orange helmet's, and Oregon state's uniforms look nice as well.

Black and orange away jerseys and white and purple home jerseys would've been cool. Hopefully the purple will come back eventually.

It's pretty obvious that they're gonna be similar to our court. The centercourt logo.

I guess we just have different tastes... because when I mentioned that teams look really ugly in those color combinations those 2 teams were at the front of my mind.

I can't believe they're getting rid of the purple. Those purple and orange Suns jerseys of the 90's were a real classic.
