Suck for luck?

Post#1 » by AirZona » Sat Dec 1, 2012 4:52 am

If you're a Suns fan, you know the frustration of being in limbo for two years with no clear plan for the future, and always ending up with our customary 13th pick with prospects we could have used off the board.

Is it time to consider cleaning house and giving prospects like Kendall Marshall, Wes Johnson and Kieff more minutes? While stockpiling draft picks and prospects?

Am i the only one who thinks we should?

Regardless of what we think, Lon Babby has taken an explicit "anti-tanking" stance.

Then fire Babby.

It's negligence what is happening.
Rockets at least had a plan, they went all out for Asik, Lin and Harden.
And they have room for max next season and 4 rookies plus Parsons who look great...

Suns in the other hand??
Pissing off the vets, and stunting the youth.

They know we need talent and we need to develop youth.

I'd play Dragic at SG and get Marshall minutes at PG ASAP.

How is babby formed?

I don't think we need to "try" to suck. We're sucking without trying. We've had a relatively easy schedule so far and we've blown it. I don't think a coaching change is going to make us title contenders, it may get us a first round sweep and another year of treadmill.

I don't think firing Gentry will make us title contenders either. However, since we did a pretty major overhaul, and many of of guys are signed for three to four years, I do feelit would have been better to make the coaching change. I honestly don't feel that Gentry will be here next year, so instead of going through a year where we continue to lose games that we should or could have won, hurts the youth core that we have.

I just really hope we go after a coach. Since Cotton stepped in for Westphal, we have called up our assistants every time except Porter. I would like to see a coach who is more disciplined, someone who commands toughness, not just wishes for it.

As for the draft, as long as we continue to draft guys too early to try and fill a need, I just don't trust them. We need better scouting.

As for Marshall, if he can't beat out Telfair for minutes, either he sucks, or Gentry or "someone else" likes Telfair more.

We could try shortening the rotation and maybe run a zone defense for the guys that just can't figure it out.

He has no imagination. He thinks we're a playoff team on the radio every week. You can tell he has little clue how to break down player performance. Go back to being an agent, Lon... Obviously he's not fully to blame here.

Clean house? WHAT clean house? What the **** else is there to clean? We traded the best player in franchise history to the sports version of Al-Qaeda. We have systematically dismantled every single part of what made us the most must-watch franchise in the league just a short time ago. Yeah, let's keep trading players away and letting them walk. Yeah. That makes sense. Let's get rid of all the guys we signed in this offseason, because that would clearly reflect well on the franchise and be a nice incentive for other players to sign here. You think anyone worth their salt would want to come to a team (or not be looking to get out immediately after their rookie contract is up) that WILLINGLY plays its' worst **** players just to "clean house"? It's bad enough having such an awful reputation with all the self-inflicted harm this franchise has done over the last 5 years. Clean house? This is your clean house. The cleaning lady literally just left with her ****' mop bucket and check. The house is pristine. You could EAT off the damn floors of this house it's so clean.

What part of wes johnson is a **** prospect lol dude is a bust. the only young talent we have right now is morris and he has been inconsistent. Nothing is going to change this season we are going to end up in the 10th seed and get a whole bunch of mediocre draft picks.

Sarver is settling for mediocrity as long as he can fill seats. That's where the anti-tanking retool instead of rebuild bull is coming from. Hopefully this fun or refund your money bull doesn't work out and he sells the team. Then we can see some things change.

Problem is Sarver might sell to an owner from Seattle or San Diego.... :(

Imo we did a solid job of getting players in the off season. I'm fairly confident in the FO moving forward.

Right now our two picks from the MIN and LAL deals would end up being #29 + #30. Fantastic, even early second round picks have more value.

Zeller, Muhammad and Noel will be very good players, but they are not worth tanking for. There are no franchise-changers in this draft.

We don't really know.

But also we don't like the word tanking...

More like Youth Development.. Because it actually helps the team for the next season.

One player who is worth tanking in the near future is Andrew Wiggins. That kid is going to be the next superstar, franchise changing talent. Just watch.

Not saying Wiggins doesn't look good now but a lot of HS players dominate HS competition. No one HS player is worth tanking for, except for Lebron.

I'm enjoying this more than last year. Looking forward to a good pick is much better than doing our best to try and make an 8th seed. 7th pick and dropping rapidly. :)
