Please, please, please, please......

Hopefully the pick isn't the Lakers' pick. If it is, they better also be taking back Beasley and Brown and throwing in something else as well.

There's no framework of a possible deal in place, but the Grizzlies have expressed a strong desire that any package involving Gay include Suns forward Jared Dudley and future first-round draft picks, sources said.

That being said, I would not trade Dudley for Gay.

Why? Do you wish to keep Dudley in Phoenix or do you think we can get something better for him?

Look, I think Gay is the better player compared to Dudley but is he $12 million (15 million next year) better than him? Depending on what pick might be included, I'd take a lottery pick, Dudley who can put up good numbers and cap space over Gay. If someone like Beasley is included and the pick we are talking about is Memphis' I might change my opinion.

I agree 100%. Dudley -and- a 1st round pick for only Rudy Gay is a gamble I don't think the Suns want to take. If Memphis is including more players and/or willing to take back some of our trash (Beasley and Brown), sure, I'd definitely consider that.

Oh god.

He's basically rich man's Beasley, not a headcase, rather no-impact than negative-impact player, definitely better defensively but is being paid 18-19 million a year for supposedly being off the dribble shot maker and offensive threat while he's just an inefficient scorer and ball stopper.

If he's the next face of the franchise then damn...

No please no. Can we try at least for one time to draft good and build from there? Why do we have to go for mediocre overpaid players all the time?

18 MM a year is too much for a 18pt/6rbs/2ast average player. He is a better player than Duds, but a far worse contract.

U'd give up an iconic player for the Suns for a very good player which is overpaid. The deal would have to have some other good things for the Suns.

I like the idea of a small team such as Dragic/Tucker/Gay/Beasley/Morris (?) though....

Dudley has more of a positive impact on a team than Rudy does, and Rudy makes 16 mill while Duds makes 4 mill.

WTF is our FO thinking.

Im ok with the idea as long as the future picks are protected. Might as well use the salary somewhere, as i dont see us attracting the big name high dollar free agents anyways, and we will most likely have a bunch of players on low dollar rookie contracts.

Also, in order to make it work we will have to dump at least 1 or 2 bad contracts to make it work $$$$ wise.

Gay for Dudley/Beasley/Frye works salary wise. Throw in a future protected 1st or a 2nd (or 2) and id be happy.

Well, as the article says, Memphis is shopping him to everyone. It seems like Dudley+picks is what they are asking, not what Phoenix offered.

Very true. If they trade Gay to any team, they want Dudley. So a 3rd team might be sending us players to obtain Dudley.

I also have a strong feeling that Brown will be apart of any deal.

We'd be really short of wings if Brown left unless they send us Wroten in return.

And I'm against the idea of trading anybody for Rudy if he takes up all our cap space. He's shooting 40% this year, and his shooting has gone down for the past two seasons in a row (45 the year before, 47 before that). PER 14.9, lowest win-shares since his rookie season.

Dude looks like he's mailed it in ever since signing that fat contract.

I would take Dudley, our picks, and our cap space over Rudy Gay, unless they have a follow-up move to bring somebody else in after Gay
