When asked how Fascism starts, Bertrand Russell once said:
"First, they fascinate the fools. Then, they muzzle the intelligent."

Love the idea. He is definitely not a "yes" man! Honestly the biggest reason to bring him in, he would bring a lot of excitement into the franchise. There is no churching things up with him. Its either bad(current suns organization) or its good.

Im in!
I am such a lucky NBA fan. 8647 My favorite team went from the most greedy and racist owner to the most ego driven dumbass owner in all of sports fdt.

Only a fan of Arizona teams!

I think that Barkley surrounded by the correct people would be absolutely fantastic for the Suns. However, I would not be able to cope with him leaving Inside the NBA. I watch that show religiously and watching Charles Barkley entertain on TV is something I can't give up :/

That's pretty cool how much he apparently loves the Suns and Phoenix.

Did I wake up in some sort of alternate universe or something? Charled Barkley would be the worst GM in the history of professional sports.

I cannot believe anyone takes this idea seriously. Its scary really.

How do you figure? You can't say someone would be worst ever without ever giving them a chance.

He would trade all of our draft picks for/use our cap space on washed up veterans.

Don't assume Charles is just a dumb jock because of his southern drawl and devil may care personality. My only concern would be that all of his gambling problems are completely over with. The guy would bring instant recognition and energy to the front office and lets be honest, im sure he would be able to help lure free agents that the Suns couldnt land without him.

It's fun to think about it but its never going to happen. Could you even imagine Charles trying to get along with Sarver? The front office drama would probably be more entertaining than the team.

 He would talk **** to the media about Sarver until he gets fired and then go back to Inside the NBA and bash him ruthlessly

i personally, love the idea of barkley being the new gm. i think he could turn this team around. he says he watches the suns religiously so he knows whats wrong with the team unlike ppl they would bring in that have no idea what they're getting them selves into.

I like Charles sometimes, and other times, he is just an arse. He talks smack about players, and often was so undisciplined as a player himself. Just imagine the player he could have been if he worked on his body like Nash does.

Actually my first choice if I was choosing ex-players would be KJ, but he is more than busy. If Grant Hill retires this season, I wouldn't mind giving him a crack at the job.

I think he'd be great! Although he acts stupid, I really believe he has a good understanding of the NBA, (unlike Shaq). And look at Chuck's team in the AS weekend. Both of the years, his choices look weak on paper, but he picked players that work well with each other. Which means he values chemistry, something most GM can't get a hold on.

It already feels like this team is run by drunk gamblers, so not sure I'd notice.

Same here. Imagine him on Draft night!

He won't take no bull-ish from any other GM's that's for sure!

Are you kidding me? The guy is a party animal (yes, still is) that never prepared fully for anything in his life.

Yet he is in the Hall of Fame and is one of the most respected athletes of our era.

As much as it may irk you some can be successfull without being conventional or overly prepared. I'll take someone with good insight and instincts over someone who spends more time preparing and obsessing any day. I still dont think this will ever happen just because Sarver is a "veto" owner rather than a hands off owner and I get the feeling that Chuck wouldnt appreciate it due to his unique personality.

Seriously it would be a fight waiting to happen.

Barkley has great instincts and, while a blowhard, has great points.

It would definately make Bobcats/Suns games more interesting. Barkley and Jordan facing off again!

If you hired Barkley, I would stil keep Babby - think that would be a nice combo.
