With the apple of his eye most likely going to Orlando IF he is even traded, should Lance Blanks be looking at Evans?
The team is in desperate need of talent at every position, most notably the wings. Evans, just a few years removed from his dominant R.O.Y. season, can be the steal of this deadline.
His deficiencies are well publicized, most notably his shot, although he has improved it, evidenced with career highs from the field (48%) and from 3 (32%). Evans as the featured piece of the offence, can return to the career path he was on as a rookie.
Big, play-making perimeter players are a rarity, looking around the NBA, none is more intriguing a prospect than Evans, and none more attainable.
Evans is due a raise, but a 20-5-5 guy with a big ceiling is a better investment than a guy who will be on the the tail end of his prime when the Suns start competing again.
