Update on Rodney Rogers

Post#1 » by Qwigglez » Mon Feb 25, 2013 5:18 am

NBA.com had a feature on Rodney Rogers after his accident in 2008, I wanted to post it in case any other Suns fans missed it. He was one of my favorite bench players when he was with us, some random memory of him hitting a rainbow jumper over Shaq, I just thought how hard would that shot be to make, lol.
Anyway, here's the vid.

Some of his career highlights on Youtube.
9 points in 9 seconds in the first part of the clip.

Dude was a real unique player. Plus he helped us acquire Joe Johnson. Which reminds me of Tony Delk. Who once scored 53 off the bench vs the Kings back when the Kings were good. What.

+1 that game was nuts. I thought we had acquired Michael Jordan for that game lol

And I used to love Rodney when he was here. He was a buff beast that could stroke that rainbow three in your face all day. I was so upset when I heard about his accident, he is a really great guy. It is tremendously unfortunate what happened to him but thanks for the memories and hope he can still enjoy his life to the fullest. A true professional on and off the court.

He's a little before the time I started seriously watching the NBA (around 2006) but I remember the name and had no idea this happened to him. I read his story and it really makes me realize how much we take for granted.

Me too.

Funny thing is that I was using his on the 193-1994 Denver Nuggets team on 2K13, playing against my friend. No idea who he was.. then suddely the next day I see this thread.

No joke, I almost teared up when I watched that video about him.

I've seen Rodney's story years ago. So sad.

I remember the story when it initially happened, but yeah this feature was really sad when I read it again. I didn't realize Chris Webber had that close of a relationship with em.
