Telfair 'bitter' about trade

Yikes! I didn't realize Bassy was so angry about the trade. Seriously, he wasn't playing and was not in the team's future plans. Plus, we shipped him to a playoff team. What else did he want? He should have just refused the trade or retired if he wanted to stay in Phoenix with his family so badly. Also, it's only for a couple months. He says it's a "man's league" and talks about being "professional", but crying about a trade seems to go against all of that. Furthermore, he goes on to complain about him and Shannon Brown not getting any playing time on a struggling team. Hhm... they were getting playing time in the beginning and that's when we were losing the most games. Come on, Telfair's been in this league long enough to know how it works.

Thoughts?

Seems like natural, understandable disappointment to me.

Dude set down roots here. He didn't even care about not playing...he just wanted to stay here in Phoenix. Now he's far from his family and may have to uproot them again.

Them's the breaks.

If we had Telfair back in the day when we were competing for a championship, I think we could have got over the hump. Saying that, it was his time to go. No need to stay in Phoenix where we're rebuilding.

Wish him nothing, but the best.

Shannon Brown? LOL. Wish we had shipped him off for a 2nd round pick as well.

We didnt ship him to a playoff team. Toronto is well outside of a playoff spot and has never really been close. But its a business. He is getting a chance to play in a contract year that he was not getting here, he should make the most of it.

The only thing I can think of, is the OP thought we sent him to Boston, which we didn't. TOR is only one game out of the ninth spot, but the current eighth spot is seven and a half games better than the ninth.

I never really cared for Telfair. He had a half of a good season. This year, he gave up his dribble too often, and didn't really seem to care about running the team. With all that said, I hope the best for him, and I am very glad we got a pick for him. :D

Interesting. After the trade Lon Babby was on the radio doing an interview. He said they talked to Bassy and they wanted to treat him well and it was a place he wanted to go. Basically he was accommodating Bassy.

I personally don't understand why some people seem to forget how much of a scrub Telfair is (and always was).
Sure, he can run the point at times and give you some quick points and all, but in the end his deficits are overwhelming.

He tends to shoot first and pass later, he takes stupid shots just like Brown, when he is getting into it with another player he loses his cool and commits very dumb fouls PLUS he always has that annoying look on his face...
And don't forget the Telfair curse...playoff hopes and him don't mesh so well...

I honestly hated him with a passion the first few months, cause he always chucked up idiotic shots and committed silly turnovers. Paired with "Brown Mamba" I regularly screamed at the TV cause I could not take another quickly missed 22-foot-jumper.

In the end he became a decent backup for us, but I'm glad we are seeing Marshall now instead of him.
He knew his time was running out when we drafted Kendall so he actually should be happy about the playing time in Toronto.

Same, makes no sense for Telfair to come out and say this stuff if it isn't true. Business is business, but it looks like Telfair finally thought he had found a place to finally call home and it just didn't happen once again for him.
