Alright, maybe it's not thread worthy, but I just want to say it to you guys.

There's no NBA team in my city, so when I started watching basketball in 2005 Nash became my favorite player and the Suns my favorite team. I followed Nash to the Lakers even though I knew things wouldn't be the same.

After watching yesterday's game, with Nash controlling the offense and going 19-12, it made me realize how much I miss Nash being a Sun. It pains me to see him become a 13-4 guy, when he still has the ability to go 14-10 and be an all-star. That game against the Kings could potentially be the last game Nash was ever "Suns-Nash" again.

My hate for Sarver came back when I thought how he screwed up the team for money reasons. I wish I could have rooted for the Suns 3 more years, I wish Nash had passed Kidd in assists like he could have done with the Suns. I wish Nash had retired as a Sun and kept playing like an all-star in his 40s. That would have been so great to watch!

I know you are trying to rebuild right now and probably don't want to look back. It's just me being "emo" and there's not much place for discussion, but I hate seeing Nash as the spot-up shooter side-kick when he has too much talent for that and I really miss this team.

Well who knows, maybe Kobe will have a career ending injury and Nash can keep playing to his full potential? It's amazing how Kobe marginalizes him. It's also kind of funny that Nash's ball sharing mentality rubbed off on Kobe, but Kobe still has to dominate the ball and try and play point guard so he won't ever be upstaged by Nash.

So what happens when Nash retires? Will you become a Heat fan?

we weren't winning with Nash as the faciliator so check your comments and its not like he's marginalized to being a pure spot up shooter, he controlls the offense here and there but he doesn't have to need to have the ball in his hand every possession either, he is easily trapped on PnR against elite teams.

Nope, not at all, too dominant for my taste and not a fan of Wade. I would rather root for the Bulls I like Noah's intensity and Rose's professionalism.

I don't know if you are implying I am a bandwagon fan, which I really don't think I am. It made sense to me to follow a player rather than a team, I have no personal connection to any city in the NBA, so it's easier to root for a player you respect and like. I'm Canadian too (even though french), so it must have helped.

I really don't know what am going to do when Nash retires. Maybe Andrew Wiggins will be the answer, even though I rather root for the underdog than the clear cut number 1.

I was more refering to selling picks, but I guess that even while doing that, they still gave Marcus Banks 24 million. So yeah, it was probably more mismanagement, like the Joe Johnson trade. It's rare to see a team reaching the conference final and then miss the playoffs the next year. I don't even disagree with not signing Amare, it was a big risk, but then don't give 80 million to Warrick, Childress and Turkoglu. Keep your option open, Phoenix is a good destination.

I'm the same way. I believe in rooting for players on teams over rooting for cities and just liking a team because they play there. I like groups of players if they have a lot of teamwork, chemistry, if they excite the crowd and are fun to watch, if they're determined to give it their all, if they're unselfish, if they look like they're enjoying themselves. Were it not for Nash, I'd probably never be a Suns fan. Yet I wonder if I'll ever like a team again as much as I liked 7 seconds or less. I still like and watch the Suns, solely for Dragic and Dudley, I try to go to games when they're in town, but it's very tenuous. Even if the Suns were the #1 team in the league, I'd still feel the same way. It feels weird. I used to obsessively watch the team for 8 years. Now it almost feels like I don't have a team anymore.

Lakers are ehh. They were the enemy for 8 years. I cheered when Raja clotheslined Kobe. I don't like Ron Artest. I don't like the constant 1 on 1 play. The last game was fun to watch with Kobe out. They were actually using teamwork and everyone was happy to pass to the open man and shoot. They weren't constantly looking for Kobe to pass it to him and afraid to take a shot because it's Kobe's ball. I could get behind a team like that. But that wouldn't be a Kobe led team.

We didn't sign Turk, we traded for him, and traded him before the deadline. The difference between his salary and LB, who we traded, was around three million, and we didn't pay all of that. But we did throw some of the Amare savings at Frye. In the end, Sarver amnestied Chilldress taking on the remaining $21 million, and traded Warrick taking away $4 of his last year. While I agree that not replacing Amare was dumb, Sarver did pay for part of those mistakes to go away.

everyone misses nash, but him not being here is way better for us than him being here. Nash probably gives us 5-10 more wins if he was here, horrible for what we need to happen. The suns dont need a 7th or 8th pick, we need a top-3 pick.

No. They're lifelong enemies. The entire IDEA of Los Angeles and the Los Angeles Lakers is my enemy.

-Not re-signing Joe Johnson when we had a potential dynasty team in the making. I believe we would have been champs that year alone if JJ didn't break his nose against Dallas and miss most of the SA series. When he came back (already down 0-3) we DOMINATED them in game 4 in SAN ANTONIO, and we almost pulled out game 5 as well. If we just kept that core together who knows what damage we could have done

- SELLING our first rounders for CASH in $arver's pockets Who does that crap???? At least trade the picks for SOMETHING to help the team. And one of those picks turned out to be RAJON RONDO!!

- Trading TWO FIRST ROUND PICKS AND KURT THOMAS (who was a key part of our team) for a CONDITIONAL SECOND ROUND PICK!!!!! Most BS move I have ever witnessed, and just to shed KT's contract when he was actually a solid player for us as well. One of those picks became Serge Ibaka for OKC

-And the reason why we suck today.....not re-signing STAT. Yes, in hindsight you can say it was a good move because of his injuries. But at the time, we were still championship contenders and we had a miracle medical staff that was keeping him healthy. His only major injury with us after the micro fracture surgery was his freak eye injury that could happen to anyone. Yes the risk of him injuring himself was always there, but I believe it was a risk we had to take at the time in order to preserve Nash's final years with us and keep us contenders while we still had them. We had to trade MVSteve because of this move as well because clearly we had no hope to contend for anything anymore. Just the mere fact that your (sarver) name gets associated as a bad owner means you are. That perception just doesn't come out of the blue.

Then he hires the wrong people for the front office, who in turn make wrong decisions. Most recently the drafting of Morris and Marshall, signing brown, trading for the other Morris, trading dragic AND a 1st round pick for brooks, and ultimately not being sure what to do with Nash.

So this is where we are. The bright side is these clowns maybe unemployed after the season. So there is hope.

The Heat are too dominant but the Bulls aren't? The Bulls had the best record in the NBA the last two seasons lol. And Rose is a professional? Did you forget that he had someone else take his test to get admitted to college? And because of that, Memphis was stripped of their championship appearance and all of their wins for the season. We're talking about one guy who was so selfish and only cared about what was best for him that he got everyone else's accomplishments wiped away. Sure, those players will remember what they did but none of it will be in the record books and won't be acknowledged by the NCAA. That's not professional at all... and neither is watching your team bust their butts this season and saying you're not going to return even though doctors have said you're cleared. Not to mention, fans were misled into buy seasons tickets because they were told he'd return and now he's not even going to return for them. I'm sorry but the Bulls are a dominant team and Rose isn't a professional. Anyways...

very nice post sean! i completely forgot about the kurt thomas trade too, wow that was terrible he was actually a great center for us too sarver has been absolutely terrible but he made the phoenix mercury a great team through the draft and it looks like they are finally attempting the same method with the suns. i believe if we tank hard the next two years we will be set with great capspace, dragic, and two great players in this draft and next (hopefully noel and wiggins/parker/randle).....and the lakers lotto pick as well don't give up hope man!! i feel that we will be back soon to our former glory
