Anthony Bennett

Looks like he'll be on the board for us around the fourth pick. How you feel about drafting him? 6"8 monster sf/pf. Reminds me of a young Stoudemire. Hopefully we can stack another lottery pick and a near max free agent in the offseason, and begin to blossom.

I like him if he can play sf. He seems a bit undersized for PF. The dude can beast though......at least at the college level.

Watched him at UNLV all season this year. He can't play small forward at all, he is strictly a 4. He has a lot of potential to be a scorer in this league. He is slightly undersized, but makes up with his length. His defense is scary bad.

A lot like Amare. I also think of Rodney Rogers and maybe a little Larry Johnson.
Too bad he is such bad defender. Don't we already have a guy like that on our roster?

Uh no?
No more tweeners. I'm tired of them. Childress, Turkoglu, Warrick, Marcus Morris, Beasley...please god no. I hope this kid stays in school just to it eliminates the chance of us drafting him.

None of those guys are very talented and Beasley is a knucklehead. Bennett is a top 5 talent and if Noel is off the board I'd be fine with AB.

If we dont take the Anthony Bennett rout, we should look at Shabazz Muhammed. That guy wants the ball and could be a breakout scorer in this league.

My concern with Bennett is that he was quoted as wanting to be a SF/SG as he develops.
If he atleast focus on being a super aggressive and skilled PF, use his quickess, bulk to get over his lack of height then I would be much more confident he can transition in the NBA...
Imagine Milsap who can shoot outside, put the ball down and attack the rim... He'd get to the free throw line a lot... Would be much more appealing.

Jeff Van Gundy made a great point during the draft last year. He said stop putting so much emphasis on position and just develop the prospect to his full ability. I'd be like taking Cody Zeller over Bennett because Bennett is a tweener. Take the most talented guy.

Dragic
Johnson
Dudley
Bennett
Gortat
If they could somehow package thier 13th pick and wesley johnson to move up and take Oladipo that'd be nice.
Dragic
Oladipo
Dudley
Bennet
Gortat
They would have plenty cap space.. the game plan would be to build around bennett and oladipo.. dragic is solid already. If they can find a good trade for Gortat pull it off. They need a young high potential big.

Eh......I think we need to address our wing issue first and foremost (Unless Noel is available). We have too many guys currently on the roster that play PF. Scola/Morris/Frye, hell, even Beasley is better suited to play PF and does play better there rather than SF.
I'd take Noel/Smart/McLemore/Shabazz/Oladipo all over Bennett.

I'm off the Shabazz bandwagon big time but I agree with the rest of your picks.

I agree that we are more in need of a wing, but Anthony Bennett is a little more in the Barkley mold than the other guys mentioned. He can rebound and score and is tough and strong. He'd basically be a pretty big upgrade from the Morris twins, but we should probably go with a wing like Olapido this year and focus on front court in next year's draft where there is some depth (hopefully we don't blow a bunch of money in free agency and overpay someone who isn't a long term difference maker).

Sorry but I don't want a 6'7 PF in the NBA.
And he sees himself as a SG/SF but he has shown way too little on the perimeter to make me believe he could be productive at either position right now. He would also have to lose weight to play the 3 I think.

Heard Bennett's got a 7'1 wingspan, soo his defensive potential is high
Frankly. The Suns need to move up somehow if we get the Lakers pick, and take Oladipo or Muhammad.. they can part ways with cash, picks, and anyone except dragic..suns fans don't have time for another unexciting season ..they need two lottery picks this year.. and I'd be happy with bennet/oladipo or bennet/muhammed

Tony Mitchell is the same player, but he is an inch taller with a 7'3 wingspan and can be had with a late first. Dude had a great freshman season, and was a lotto pick, but took a step back this season. Him and Bennett are the pretty much the same.

a 7'1 wingspan is nothing special at all for a PF.
He is still 6'7 and a pretty bad defender in college, he is never going to be a good defender in the NBA if he plays the 4.
You put a 6'7 player at the 4 or 5 and you definitely lose a lot of rim protection.

Jeff Van Gundy would have picked Beasley over Rose then? Or Derrick Williams possibly over Irving?
Position concerns are a very valid reason to rate someone lower.

Only player I'd take over Bennett is Noel. And it would be a tough sell.

What happened to the "BazzLuv' dude ?
Bennet is a scary pick.... just as Shabazz is, McLemore, VO.... and even Noel. Heck, I am not opposed to taking Adams at this point. At least with him, we won't expect anything for 2 yrs. And really, we should not expect thing from any of these guys.
