The Day of Truth

Post#1 » by MathiasPW » Wed Apr 17, 2013 7:15 pm

This is the day where it will be decided if we may get McCollum as the steal of the draft at #14thish or if we get [insert future D-Leaguer here} with the 30th Miami pick.

Here are the odds:

Jazz @ Grizzlies (8:00 pm ET): there is a chance that Memphis plays soft, because of their minimal chances of getting Home Court Advantage. To do so, the Clippers would have to lose @ Sacramento (10:30pm, ET), which is very unlikely. Nevertheless, to admit "defeat" may be too much, and most likely the Grizzlies will play all they have. A tough challenge for Utah, which nevertheless will be the most motivated of the two, since their season is on the line. Milsap and Al Jefferson are playing for huge(r) contracts, too.

Houston @ Lakers (10:30 pm, ET): no Nash, no Kobe for the Lakers. Both teams are fully motivated for the game: if Lakers lose, and Utah wins (the result should be known by the time the game starts), Lakers season is over as the biggest frustration ever, given early expectations on this team, and this kinda makes up for our ugly season (it really doesn't). If Houston loses, they lose their 7th seed to the Lakers, and are destined to face OKC in the 1st round, vs playing a very weakened Spurs (No Ginobili, injured Parker and Diaw) if they keep 7th seed. So do not expect Houston to back down, much to the contrary.

Refs vs Suns Fans (an eternal battle, ALLTHETIME): take your notepad and film, edit and make a cool compilation of all the questionable calls on all 3 crucial games tonight so we can add many many minutes to the Lakers Conspiration Theory video circulating (posted by Kerrsed somewhere)

Just put $10 parlay down on Rockets & Jazz to win $43...but more importantly, to win another lotto pick.

Cleveland vs Charlotte is just as big a game for us since we had to win vs Houston....

Actually we have to lose vs Denver too that is important as well..

Cleveland and Charlotte does not matter.

Charlotte will finish below the Suns no matter what.

Even if Cleveland wins and we lose, we both finish 25-57, but the Suns won both regular season games and thus will finish higher in the standings.

One thing has already been determined: The Suns will have the 4th most ping pong balls in the 2013 NBA lottery.

1. Orlando or Charlotte (depends on tonight)
2. Charlotte or Orlando (depends on tonight)
3. Cleveland
4. Phoenix
5. Sacramento or New Orleans (depends on tonight)
6. Sacramento or New Orleans (depends on tonight)

So, of the top 6 teams, who does Stern owe a favor to?

I think it`s time for Charlotte to pick first. Us picking second sounds about right.

if we tie with cleveland we will split the odds for the lottery and if neither of us moves up then there will be a coinflip..

Jazz/Grizz tied at the end of the 1st.

Charlotte taking the Cavs to school. Meanwhile we are doing a good job of losing ourselves.

Hollins needs to do the right thing, take one for the team and give The Beard the opportunity to foil Emperor Stern's (alleged!) evil plan.

ESPN announcer said in the first half "when the Lakers win" Then just now said "there is no scenario where the Lakers will play OKC"
