Still unknown is the future of Marcin Gortat. Our center is preparing for Eurobasket, but all the time thinking about future in the best basketball league in the world. Pole in an interview with the Review of the Sports admitted that he is not sure whether you will be in the Phoenix Suns.

For a long time, it is speculated that Martin can change the color of the PHX decide to trade away our basketball. - I spoke with new head coach Jeff Hornacek, he said he counts on me so, but I feel I'm at the outlet of the Suns - said simply "Polish Hammer" to journalist "Sport Review".

Can performance in the September EuroBasket help change the club? - A good game in the European Championships can ... increase interest in me as a basketball player - said Gortat.

From his words and from McD says it looks for me that he will stay until trade deadline, I guess there is no deal for him right now at this offseason. Also he confirmed he will join national team at Eurobasket.

To me, he doesnt sound happy, he knows his time here is ending sooner rather than later and he is not a part of our future, he will try to be professional and still ball (which in all actuality helps him out as he is a FA next season), and his house will be rented until the trade deadline, as he doesnt expect to be here after that.

GrownAssMen are not emotional

Its all business to him. He knows over the next 8 months he will be playing for his future 3-4 yr deal.... no matter where he is.

It's too bad teams like Philly and Boston don't really feel the need to get a center since they are tanking. It's starting to look more and more like he may just end up being an expiring contract and then someone like Philly will probably sign him next summer. I guess there is a possibility that Cleveland or Dallas may want him (whoever doesn't get Bynum) though.

Dallas doesn't have any assets other than future draft picks. Unless you like Jae Crowder or Bernard James. So maybe hope for Cuban to pony up for Bynum, but because of their silly signings of Calderon and Harris they only have about $12M in cap room left.

I cant imagine he would be upset about being traded from a rebuilding team when he is in the prime of his career.

Yeah, I was thinking a future draft pick but they owe the Lakers their 2014 pick (and they were stupid enough to protect it from 1-20 every year until 2018, where it is unprotected).

It seems like he doesn't even want to be here. And weren't there people here who said that wasn't true and that Gortat wants to play for Phoenix etc? LOL

He even said it himself basically that he won't demand a trade cause he's doesn't want to look like a loser but then went on to essentially say that he still wants out but he won't be a coward and demand a trade.

The writings on the wall and he's just telling it like it is. He'll be playing for a contract so I think we should build his value up a little first.

Let's look at this logically.

A bad GM would say well see where Gortat is Len is our guy for the future

McD is hedging his bet by using Gortat this season and maybe keeping him depending how Len develops.

McD also knows that by boosting Gortat's value and not devaluing him to the public it keeps his trade value higher.

It also promotes team chemistry and it prevents locker room discord some.

It also boosts his trade value at the deadline when he's playing for a contract and we can swing him to a contender. I think Golden State will need Gortat I don't trust Bogut being healthy the whole year.

Gortat plus a future 1st round pick for Thompson/Barnes would be prime.

I think Thompson/Barnes/Iggy is too many wings for that team and if we could get Klay or Barnes that'd be amazing.

We have no value for any of those three. If they did decide to dump one it would probably be a package so they could upgrade at PF/C which they have a pretty good PF/C to begin with. Not to mention How is that to many wing guys when they ran Curry,Jack, Klay, Barnes, Bogut in playoffs and had success with it.

they are not taking Gortat who they don't need and the risk of him walking at the end of the year for Thompson & Barnes. I'm not even sure we could of got a lotto pick with Gortat.

never in a million years. With the whole Len feet issue, Im thinking that it might just be best to hold onto Gortat in the mean time, at least till the trade deadline.

We will trade him at some point before the deadline.

He doesn't really want to be here because he wants to test free agency. So therefor he wont sign a long term contract with us because we wont offer him much. A center like Gortat will get a lot in free agency and him and his agent know that. Our only option is to trade him or we lose him for nothing.

The things I would rather do than accept that trade include BBQ-ing my own dog.

Isn't it an option to do a sign and trade as well ? Wouldn't a chunky TPE be an asset? Couldn't a player also be included in the off season swap ? Will you be Dragic14 next yr? Inquiring minds want to know!

Will we be under the cap next year? If so, would we still get a TPE?

Also, we could resign him.
