Beasley Busted **UPDATE** Beasley Waived!!!!!!

Post#1 » by DRK » Mon Jul 29, 2013 12:04 pm

So reading through a few posts here and there, I thought it would be interesting to get some actual data on what everyone thinks about Michael Beasley on this forum. I remember during last offseason, how much hoe we had in the guy as our "next superstar." Many people, myself included, thought he would flourish in the team built around him. But it never was to be.

Is he done with the Suns? Does he deserve another chance? What does he need to do to become a better player for us? Is it too late for him to change?

Here's a Few Articles about our Very Own Michael Beasley. Great Reads.

I think he has like a 5% chance of turning his career around.

The smart thing is to keep him and buying him out after this season to put our cap space to good use. And I think that's exactly what McDonough will do.

Either way, I'm of the "whatever McDonough does, I support him" clan.

I want to give him another chance, but at the point he's been on 3 different teams and didn't live up to expectations on any of them.

Give him a chance, don't give him a chance. I don't really care. If McD can find a team to unload him to, then go for it. If not, then I hope we give him a ton of PT so he can get his value up a little bit.

Option D: I don't want to waive him immediately(because it doesn't make any financial sense), and I don't think he'll turn it around. Just keep him at the end of the bench and cut him next year when his contract is only partially guaranteed.

In McD we trust, just have zero faith in Beasley ever realizing his true potential which is a shame because the guy could be a stud.

Whatever McDonough thinks but I would have waived him as soon as the season was over.

Read my sig! or better waive him, buy him out and never put him near the suns again. same for brown. but in other words, we will tank for wiggins... he should play in our starting 5 then :D

Unless he's destroying the locker room (which doesn't appear to be the case), we might as well ride it out on the 0.001% chance he turns it around. Right now it seems like the rotation will probably be decided by how well you do in practice so if he's improved he gives himself a shot at minutes, and if not he's sitting on the bench. If there's a chance to just unload his contract then for sure do it though.

Edit: I just watched the video in the NBA.com article. Dragic's reaction is hilarious!!

Pay him to stay at home and get high. He is pure trash and while it would be nice to just cut him, financially it does not help us. He is hot garbage, a lazy and stupid player whos presence makes everyone around him worse, its unfair to the rest of the guys to be forced to play with him.

I went for the "willing to be patient" option. I'm probably one of the folks around here most high on Beasley (no pun intended with the "high" thing), in the sense that I see much more upside potential than he's grown into. He's had a lot of chances though so I'm not all over trying to develop him, but I'm also not sold that he'll slip into oblivion as a totally useless player forever. We need to find a role that works for the team and get him comfortable with it so he has expectations that can be more or less met. I'm definitely most concerned about his work ethic and attitude though so that remains to be seen.

Wow ... doesn't look like Horny and McD are interested in seeing Beasley at PF. With Scola leaving McD only talks about Markieff, Marcus, and Frye battling for PF minutes.

I keep seeing people put Tucker as a starter over Butler... I don't get it. Why wouldn't Butler start?

Not trying to troll... Just curious why people keep thinking that?

He tries harder and is more competitive than anyone we have on the team. Moreover, he can guard the best player on the other team from 1-4, not needing a double team help. I just don't think the same could be said about Butler.

That pretty much sums it up. If PJ develops his 3 point shot he will be significantly more valuable than Dudley ever was.

He's had his chance. He's a bust. He will ride the bench this year and we will cut him next year.
