Will the suns be out-tanked this season? (From 76ers board)

Post#1 » by Sunsdeuce » Thu Aug 1, 2013 2:59 am

This thread is on the 76ers board. Most of their fans are worried about us being worse then them. I just wanted to see how our opinions compare to theirs.

I know, I know some of you don't think tanking exists. But for the purpose of this thread pretend it does exist.

Here is their thread.
Will the 76ers be out-tanked next season?

I am such a lucky NBA fan. 8647 My favorite team went from the most greedy and racist owner to the most ego driven dumbass owner in all of sports fdt.

I think we'll be better than Philly but could end up with a worse record. The East is a train-wreck so they'll beat up on eachother...

Yeah I think we're a better team but they're in the east.

I think we'll be 10 wins better than the 76ers, they don't even look like a real NBA team at the moment. Hell, they still don't have a head coach and have no idea what system they will even be implementing.

But, they do play in the East and will face some easier opponents as well...so it could be close considering how freaking tough the West looks.

The Sixers don't even have a HC!

I heard that the FO is telling every HC candidate in interviews that they have to tank and that's why nobody wants the job cause it looks bad on their résumé.

Last team to hire a coach this late was Orlando last year...and they had the worst record in the NBA.

Being in the East should give them MORE wins, not less. The East has way less talent than the West, therefore the Sixers will be playing a much easier schedule.

However, I also believe the Sixers are a much crappier team, and while the Suns are making moves that obviously are designed to payoff down the road, the Sixers are not even trying to do anything at the moment... they dont even have a coach yet!

I think the Suns will win 20-25 games... maybe less if Gortat gets moved early in the year, but the Sixers... their roster is a joke. Unless Carter-Williams is a virtual all-star in his first year and Noel comes back way sooner than projected then they will be the worst offensive, defensive and rebounding team in the league. I think the Sixers will make a serious run at 70 losses.

Yep, that's what I am thinking as well, Suns at about 25 wins and the 76ers at about 10-15.

Yep, but unfortunately for Philly the lotto is not graded on a bell curve. They could go 0-82 and will still have no better than a 25% chance to win the lotto.

Holy heck! Are there people already crying so much about a list of players that might not even be the final roster, nor played a minute of regular season games to warrant a thread about?

Who cares what fans think about teams tanking? We all know that most all NBA players give it their all, so any possible thought by any FO to lose games on purpose (if we are pretending it exists), could easily be foiled by players and coaches doing their jobs.

As we know from years past, it is extremely tough to guess who would be at or near the bottom of the league, three months before the start of preseason.

Where did you hear about the FO telling the candidates they have to tank? Thats interesting if that is true.
I think it may be more of a "wink wink" type of thing.

91% say the Suns will not be the worst team. What poll are you reading?

Bye, troll.

This kind of reminds me of that south park episode where they're playing base ball and trying to lose on purpose and saying how amazing their opponents are while putting themselves down.

Haha, exactly.

Now that I have that episode in mind, I can see the Sixers and Suns having the same records heading into the final game of the season. The Suns desperately trying to lose, but their opponents manage to somehow trail in the game into the final seconds of the 4th quarter. When out of nowhere, the Gorilla starts a fight with the other team's mascot that spills out onto center court where the refs rule that if the Gorilla keeps on fighting, the Suns will be forfeit the game. The lights dim, the spotlights focus on the mascots, the Rocky theme is playing, and the crowd goes nuts for the Gorilla to fight with all of his might. Finally, the Gorilla is the last one standing, the Suns forfeit the game, and the arena goes nuts when free coupons for Wiggins jerseys rain down from the ceiling while $arver makes out with his 28 year old transgender Thai ladyboy.

It'll be an epic anti-tankers vs tankers this up coming season... Not just in Suns Forums but Sixers too... Their will be "Fire Hornacek" threads after Suns wins towards the end of the season especially ;)

DO you read the post you are in or do you simply just flame other posters?
over 90pct of the posters agree with my viewpoint, and truthfully posters like you are far worse than a troll because your exactly the type of poster RealGM swore to get rid of. Those that sit in their forums all day and attack others unprovoked.

You have over 3000 post when was the last time RealGM sent you any merchandise for your insightful post?
I am almost positive you will have another 3000 before you even begin to understand this. Just get along and understand not every Suns fan is a Lon Babby apologist and agrees with the draft or moves that are being made every single time.

Mr Troll, did you see the question you circled? 92% said no to the question that the Suns would be the worst team. It seemed like your stance was the Suns would be worse than Philly. The poll doesn't negate your silly comment, but it in no way supports it.
