Hopes for Gerald Green?

Post#1 » by TheExpat » Wed Sep 4, 2013 2:50 am

Hi guys,

With Butler, and now Beasley gone, I'm wondering what you guys think of Gerald Green's potential in Phoenix this year. I grabbed him for my dynasty team when free agency opened up the other day, and I'm excited to see what he does for you guys this year. He seems like the perfect guy to put butts in seats while the tank cruises on.

What do you think? Does he start at SF, or do you go with PJ Tucker? Does he see close to 30 minutes as the roster stands?

안녕하세요 한국분이세요?

I dont see Green having a huge role here. Tucker or Mook will probably start. Green will probably just play a bit off the bench

I think the starting sf position will be up for grabs and decided in training camp.

I think everyone will have a shot at playing time, but Green seems to be a bit of a dummy out there. And as we've seen before, its hard to fix stupid.

C: Len / Plumlee / Kravtsov
PF: Morris / Morris
SF: Tucker / Green
SG: Dragic / Goodwin / Brown
PG: Bledsoe / Marshall / Smith

That's a 20-25 win team.

Green is 2nd slotted SF, so expect 15-20 minutes... Maybe.

Just jump really high. That's my goal for him and that's all he can really do.

If he could do this for us at least once this year that would make me happy.

This will probably go down in history as a top 3 in-game dunk of all time.

^Yeah that dunk is unbelievable...Top 3 alley oop dunk ever.

Also loved Marbury's over the shoulder grab for the Nets- how high he got is unreal, and the lob from crazy Stephen Jackson:

And where Vince grabbed it like 2m behind him and slammed it level with the rim...

Back to Green...Hops for Green, I don't know about Hope.

If he can be more entertaining and have more highlights than Brown last year, it'll be enough for me.

Yeah that Vince Carter dunk was the best of it's time. As of right now Vince Carter is the best dunker in NBA history. Combination of flare and power is unmatched. He also had the best windmill of all time.

I totally overlooked Green and assumed he was shipped out already. He's not going to play much this season despite our lack of depth at the 3.

My hope is that neither he nor Shannon Brown play one single solitary second for the 2013-14 Phoenix Suns.

Gortat?

I think he'll be traded soon.
Assuming... For a couple of first round pick and TPE/Expiring... Not sure who though.

But that lineup I posted is more of the "new" core team.

Gortat won't be traded before the season starts, especially with Len being injured.
