What are your expectations of Dragic this season?

Post#1 » by scooper1030 » Sun Sep 15, 2013 2:32 am

Based on all the opinions I've seen of Dragic online (from both Suns fans and other NBA fans), I can't tell if many of us are being too optimistic about him, or if everyone else is just underrating the guy.

So, I want to know, what are your expectations of Dragic this season? Once again, he'll have plenty of touches and opportunities to score, and he will be working under a coach interested in picking up the pace and having him be as aggressive as possible on offense.

Does that mean Dragic can keep up the production he gave post All-Star break last season (16.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, 9.5 assists, 2.0 steals per game) for an entire year? Or will he come closer to what he was averaging before All-Star weekend (14.0 points, 2.8 rebounds, 6.3 assists, 1.4 steals per game)?

Basically, has Dragic already hit his ceiling, or will he continue to improve?

Also, how would you rate Dragic compared to other NBA point guards? Personally, I would place him in the same group as guys like Holiday, Lawson, Conley, Walker, Jennings, Lin, etc. What do you think?

Also.
-work on his jumper,
-lower his turnovers,
-coexist with Bledsoe

I expect the best Dragic next year. I think he can be even an All Star, if he has the same production than last year post ASG he will be in the conversation for sure.

Statistically, I predict 16.5p, 7a, 3r, 1.5s with good defense and leadership.

From how he's playing in Eurobasket right now, I'm expecting a career year for him next season. Wouldn't be surprised if he managed to make the all star game.

if he stays in form that he currently play i think he's capable near 20pts-10asist-5reb. Great news for suns is that Goran is playing better from season to season. :D

He's put up basically the same averages per 36 for a few seasons now. I expect a near identical season to last year.

At 27, there's not much upside left, which is okay, because he's pretty darn good as it is.

My thoughts also.

I actually think he scores a little more with Bledsoe, something like 16.5pts 3.5reb 6.5asst 1.8stl 1.5x 3s 46/78 splits

You guys expecting too much from him. His numbers will be down now because Bledsoe.

Bledsoe at point will improve the Dragons numbers. Points up, assists down.

18/5

I really don't see Bledsoe taking much away from Dragic. In fact, having two point guards in the backcourt may actually improve his numbers. With a Dragic-Bledsoe pairing, the Suns are going to push the pace, be aggressive on defense and come up with a lot of steals, and therefore have a lot of easy opportunities in transition. Plus, Hornacek is a much more offensive-minded coach than Hunter. To me, faster pace = more offensive scoring opportunities = more production.

I came in thinking 16/7/5, 18/7/5, something like that.

I would be ecstatic with that.

Hopefully he keeps the performance from late last season. I'm a bit worried about the Bledsoe factor though.

I think Dragic thrives in transition and likes off-ball situations more than we realize. In that regard, I think Bledsoe will help.

I'm thinking 17/7/4 with 1.5 treys and 1.5 steals on okay %s

He's probably going to fetch a couple of first round picks from some middle of the pack team hoping to make a playoff push.

Return to Phoenix Suns
