I'd love for it to be their 1st. Which other picks does Washington have? Seems like they'd have to give up at least a 1st. My question is: who starts at C since Okafor is out indefinitely?

Wow.

I think anyone who has been questioning what the "goal" of this team is can safely bury any thought of us being better than a 25 win team.

win win situation for suns. We get rid of brown and marshall and on other way we trade Gortat and have better chance for get wiggins in next draft.

So what do we get if/when Washington picks in the top 12? We don't lose the pick, we get something else (possibly at a later date), correct?

Another decent asset.

Never liked Gortat, but I wish him well. He certainly deserves to be on a team with playoff contention at his stage of his career.

I like the deal. We were most likely gonna waive Lee and Marshall. So, in essence this deal really is Gortat and Brown for Okafor and a Top 12 portected 1st round pick from the Wizards. Great deal. Gotta love the new regime.

If Okafor shows a pulse before Feb I have little doubt we will try to flip him too.

Loving the aggressiveness of McD.

I would have liked to see less protection on that pick if the Suns are giving up a very productive and serviceable big man. There was a pretty good chance the Wiz would snag a bottom seeded playoff spot even without Gortat but now it could be a better chance for sure.

Getting rid of Brown is nice.

Good deal for the Wiz, and decent deal for us, which can wind up being a very good deal for us if we fix Okafor up and flip him for an asset around the trade deadline. Given how we dealt Caron Butler after acquiring him, wouldn't surprise me at all.

Gortat should fit nicely on an athletic team like the Wizards, bet they make the playoffs.

Protected Top 12? Eh. So we won't be getting that pick next year. At least Shannon Brown is **** GONE.
