This is an honest question, but if Kendall Marshall can't even get a back up guard spot on this team which pick was worse last season, him or Royce White? I know Royce has his issues with flying or whatever it is, but Kendall Marshall is a legitimate lottery pick from a season ago that can't even keep a roster spot.

Royce White is by far the worst pick. At least Kendall tried.

I believe Marshall was the worse pick, especially with Henson and Harkless on the board still.

Royce was worth the gamble IMO. No one knew he would turn out this way, and the risk was worth it with his potential.

Kendall was picked too early. We should have made the deal with Cleveland that Dallas did. Since we were leaning towards rebuild at the time of the draft, taking the 24th, 33rd,34th picks and fill some holes with actual players.

Oh well, it's all in our past now. The question will now turn to, did we make the right choice at number five this year?

The bigger question about this year's draft is why we didnt make a move for Rudy Gobert after he fell so far? We all know McD's love for long players.

Marshall at least played.

Ha. I wanted White (with a later pick though). So plenty of egg on my face. None of you should probably pay attention to anything I say from here on out.

I know this might come back and bite me but I think Gobert and Steven Adams are two guys that are just gonna fizzle out in the league

I don't see Adams fizzling out. Sees high motor, willing to bang defensively and rebound. May not be that great offensively but should have a good career.

Gobert I'm not sure about.

I'm not feeling Gobert. This league has seen lengthy players come and go real quick but the league always has a roster spot for high energy guys with good size who hustle; Adams is that guy. Even if he never develops an offense, I think teams are still going to covet a guy like him.

Adams is going to be Tyson Chandler II

Gobert is a coin flip...he could be any of McGee, Brandan Wright or Biyombo. Or he could be back in Europe in 3yrs...

The pick made little sense at the time considering it wasn't a need and, in my opinion, wasn't even close to picking best-player-available as well. Someone somewhere in the front office had dreams of another Nash and thought Marshall could turn into him.

Fixed We still hadn't moved past the Nash era when Marshall was picked...I think?

That night got hazy really fast after we picked Marshall,

Yes, at the time of the pick we only had Telfair under contract.

I saw Marshall more of a Kidd minus the defensive/rebounding side. Marshall has great court vision. Surround him with good defenders and good finishers and he could easily average eight assists per game. But I agree that we drafted him too early. Do that Cle deal and might have still been there at #24.

Andre Miller. IMO that was the best case for Marshall. You take away defense and rebounding from Kidd... and you're basically left with Andre Miller, except like Marshall, Miller is less athletic than a young Jason Kidd was.

But Miller and Kidd have guile and determination, two qualities Marshall seems to lack entirely.

He reminded me of Marcus Williams.

Marcus went #22, which about where Marshall should have gone.

Marshall had a low ceiling and everyone knew it. Wasn't a smart pick. Now, I understand WHY the pick was made, we needed a new PG because Nash was possibly leaving in FA, and even if not we needed his successor in place.

But time and again history has told us....DRAFT BPA!!!! NOT for position of need!

I would say if we end up with a pick where a PG is the BPA and Dragic is still on the roster, we should trade the pick. No need for 3 point guards.
