Dragic and Bledsoe

I think we have to sign Bledsoe no matter what any other teams offer him.

I think the Dragic + Bledsoe backcourt is our future.

They mesh so well together.

Bledsoe is crazy athletic and gets in the paint and Dragic is a marksman/distributer. (and Dragic himself is crazy athletic but he doesn't get into the paint and draw fouls as well as Bledsoe)

They were made for each other....Together they can make the best backcourt in the league.

I think its way too early to decide all this. 4-6 games is way too small a sample size. Lets see if Bledsoe can improve his game throughout the season and learn to shoot better and cut down his turnovers.

If he doesn't improve and this is his ceiling, then its a whole different scenario.

Bledsoe/Dragic is too small of a backcourt to compete for championships which is the only thing in life that matters.

So I say Dragic be the 6th man ( I don't care he makes 7 mil a year let him be the Ginobili super sub off the bench) start Bledsoe he's more talented overall and hope Goodwin becomes the starting shooting guard we need in the future or else draft one in the 2014 draft.

Bledsoe starting with Dragic as the backup super sub 6th man I think is the way to go.

Championship teams always always have a big 2 guard.

Look through history.

Michael Jordan, Manu Ginobili, Kobe Bryant, Paul Pierce

That being said I want to keep Dragic and Bledsoe. Just not starting them together in the same backcourt.

Ya they can put up big numbers together but they're too short together to compete for championships. Gotta have a big 2 guard who plays D

There had to be one fan who hasnt seen Spurs playoff "the quarter" yet.

I wouldnt worry too much about dragic playing 20 min with bledsoe at guard in the playoffs.

The Mavericks won the title with JJ Barea starting at 2 guard.

And not that Ray Allen was small, but he was the Celtics' 2-guard on their championship team. Paul Pierce only played forward.

KJ (6'1) and Hornacek (6'3) went to two consecutive WCF as the starting guards. Stockton (6'1) and Hornacek (6'3) went to two consecutive NBA finals as the starting guards. The Pistons started Isiah Thomas (6'1) and Joe Dumars (6'3) and won two consecutive NBA championships. They often played a third guard (Vinnie Johnson - 6'2) along with them.

I do think for both of them to be a long term starting backcourt, they both need to continue to improve their outside shooting though.

It's not really about how tall Dragic is, it is the fact he seems to be built like a point guard.

I'm comfortable with Dragic guarding most 1s and most 2s -- he'll probably never be a shut-down defender, but he's solid. I haven't seen a ton of Bledsoe yet, but his rep is one of excellent defense. I'm fine with him guarding any PG. He is short for most 2s, but how many really good 2-guards are there who will make him pay for the height disparity? Not a ton. Furthermore, what are the best ways to punish a shorter defender? Shoot over him or take him to the low post. In today's NBA, pull-up jumpers are not a very good offensive option -- I welcome them. As for the post-up game, it pretty much needs to be elite to be worth its while. Other than a healthy Kobe, I can't think of a 2-guard who scares me in the post.

Now, having shorter players on the perimeter does make it harder to close out on shooters when rotating, and that's a real thing. But I wouldn't give up on a Dragic/Bledsoe backcourt unless it becomes clear that they can't play together, or unless you got an offer too good to pass up.

The big question is who would be our "big three" on a championship team. Bledsoe is beginning to show he might be able to be a #2 or #3 player. Dragic is at best a #4 player. So we are still in need of a #1 and a #2/3 player. My guess is that we try to get one through the draft and the other through trade or free agency.

Bledsoe and Dragic are capable of being the best and second best player on a contending team. You're a #4 poster.

sorry whoever thinks that dragic and bledsoe are capable of carrying this team to a title are crazy.
they can be productive elite players in a working system, but are not superstars (yet).
you need an elite big to get a ring. good guards are easier to find.

garnett, bosh, dirk, duncan, shaq, etc...
or if you don't have any elite big, you need jordan, magic or kobe...
