Relative to Hayward's ability, I just don't think it is a lot to give up.

I'd give up the Morris twins for Hayward without blinking. Only Kieff is worth having anyway, and I really dislike that even as grown men they have to be attached at the hip. Hayward offers far more team versatility and is just a better player than both twins.

I would only trade Okafor if McD could get either of these: future first OR an AllStar caliber player, ie Love, Noah, Rose, or Horford.

Noah for me. He was made for the playoffs.
I think they would want Len and a pick along with Okafor, though..................

This celtics trade stuff is getting out of hand.
You guys got to read the responses to this article:
http://www.celticsblog.com/2014/1/27/53 ... -green-nbaHere is just a taste of the nonsense they are spewing;
" How about Hump and Green for ....
…Okafor, Len and a first or two firsts with some filler .
Hump sounds like he would fit the veteran, immediate help, very shot term contract."

Yikes. There is no cure for whatever causes people to think like that.

Freaking insane read. Okafur and 1st for Green and Wallace?!?!

Somebody has been taking hits off of the trade machine bong. It would kill our cap space for two more years.

My favorite is all the "the Suns have 6 first round picks over tge next 2 drafts" so they can spare one or two or three and Okafor for our mediocre player(s).

If anything, we'd be the one getting the pick. Christ people are dumb.

The free agency market is filled with small forwards. Rather roll the dice in free agency than take on Jeff Green.

Hope we make a run at Monroe. He may not be a fast as Thad Young or space the offense as well, but we could slot him at Center, and lately I haven't been liking what I've seen from Thad.

Spending big money on a C with Plumlee and Len in the fold doesn't seem wise.
I'm Lance Stephenson or bust in FA.

Neither does spending big money on an off-guard with questionable character with Dragic, Bledsoe, and Goodwin in the fold.

Hayward for the Twins? That's an steal for the Suns, even if Gordon is a RFA. A steal, I don't know what's there to debate. Game wise he is exactly what we need on offense, and the Morrii production, which at the moment granted that is a big chunk of our bench, can be replaced. After all, there are hordes of tweener forwards.
Finding Hayward's skillset is much more difficult, and one extra year of the twins at the rookie scale can't touch it.

Jeff Green is exactly the kind of player and contract the Suns should avoid altogether at this stage. That includes many others in a similar situation, with Josh Smith at the top.
Josh Smith is Hedo 2.0, and just thinking of trading for him gives me an attack of retching.

Isn't Hayward projected to make more money then green though plus we would have to sign and trade for Gordon with picks and assets. Green would be cheaper not only trade wise but cap wise. As far as the sf position goes it should be deng or hold tight

The more I see of him the more I agree. I just don't think Utah moves him. I'd be willing to give up our pick & the Washington pick plus anyone that isn't Dragic, Bledsoe, Len, Plumlee or Frye.
I'd have to go over the numbers, but... if Frye opts out I think with Bledsoe's cap hold being around $9Mil we could offer a max to Hayward then max out Bledsoe after the business w/ Hayward is done one way or the other. Bledsoe would have to definitely be in on that decision making process though because the moment he signs an offer sheet with anyone the game is up.

There is room for both, or it can be created with relative ease.
But I wouldn't pay for him now. Whoever has him by the summer will have to face a hefty offer sheet, and even if I'd match (which would be imperative if you use assets to get him), I wouldn't like to put myself in a position where I paid relevant assets for the right to abort another team's maneuver to steal him.
Not when I simply can be the theft next summer, because if the Jazz were to move him now, it's because they don't want to spend on him the kind of money that he will command, but we are not the only fish in the FA pond.
