i can definetly relate as i am reaching my own finish line. accepting that something that has been so important part of your life is slowly fading away, is sooo hard.

I watched it and read the article. I'm more interested in his book project, where he talks about Amare and stuff. Sounds pretty interesting.

Incredibly sad. Steve will always be my favorite player. I'd like to see him really return to form for the latter part if the season, even if it is with the Lakers. He deserved a ring here. I'll always think what if....for the rest of my life with some of those teams.

Here's a **** reality. Michael Beasley may end up with a championship ring. Steve Nash won't.

on the other hand, though, Steve has had it pretty good in his career. Peaked at just the right time, won two MVPs, and is now making a boatload of money for doing pretty much nothing. It's not great for the sport that his career is ending, but I don't personally feel too bad for him.

I love this athlete. True lover of basketball.

What a shame he has to end up on a ****** lakers team(franchise) down the stretch. Wish he could have retired here at a bargain, especially with his protégé looking more and more like the old Steve.

I wish we went to Miami or Indiana instead of the Lakers. He could have won a title there and he would have been easy to root for as well.

Hopefully he can find some kind of satisfaction in his final years. Wouldn't mind to see the Lakers try to buy him out and watch him catch on with a contender.

He knows its over. You can see it in him. I know he is privileged, but you still feel bad to see someone try so hard knowing there is nothing he can do really. You hope other players watch how hard he works and emulate him. Its a shame its ending like this :/ Great player and a Great Sun. I wish him all the best. Hope he stays around the NBA in some capacity (however I see him leaving the NBA and everything forever after he retires).

I don't think one wrong decision will taint his career. Still one of the best PG's of all time and if it hadn't been for a few unlucky breaks, he would be more than "just" 2-time MVP.

I tune into Laker games now and then just to watch him do is thing, even if it's in a more limited capacity.

That Nash Guy has a thirst for limelighting that he's not getting with Showtime. Had to expect something like this once he quaffed his hair and moved to Movietown. It will play well in Canada, but per RickJamesbich.... 4 thumbs down here. Even his book announcement reeks of a 'Hey, look at me' moneygrab.

Fade away gracefully, till Phnx softens up and decides to hang your jersey. Thats the next time he will be relevant, and it just for a day. Should have never ran away from home.

sure his rehab process has been hard, but this was his choice. He could have retired and just be chilling on the beach or playing rec league soccer. None of what he's enduring right now is necessarily forced upon him. I still contend that he's had it pretty good, having had a fulfilling pro career and made way more than enough money to retire comfortably when he decides to do so. He's accomplished virtually everything a pro athlete could dream of, is a hero for countless fans. Can't feel too bad about that when it's all said and done.

wait, you were accusing him of doing pretty much nothing and now you are suggesting he should be doing that.

i you ever played basketball, truly loved it, you can understand what this clip is talking about. the point is, it is tough(thats an understatement) to accept the fact that you can no longer participate at that level and enjoy the game you love. to let go so important part of your life. its not about the limelight, the show. its about the game.
