There has been an “if and when” attached to the comeback of Suns guard Eric Bledsoe this season.

It now is looking more like just “when” he returns. That is because Bledsoe possibly is about a week away from resuming practicing with the team, if all progress and check-ups continue to go as well as they have thus far. Bledsoe has been doing more active shooting on the court this week and working with assistant coaches.

It has been six weeks since Bledsoe underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee. The team and Bledsoe’s representatives are making sure it is a careful recovery process for a knee that also had a surgery 27 months prior.

“He’s working more and more every day,” Suns coach Jeff Hornacek said. “He’s going to get checked out again just to make sure nothing’s going on in there. He’s in good spirits and I think he’s itching to go but they’re being cautious with him and making sure that we’re not rushing him back to be in this run. When he comes back, it’s going to be great. It gives us another weapon so we look forward to that day.”

Bledsoe is unavailable for comment until he resumes practicing.

The Suns were 16-8 in games with Bledsoe, who missed his 30th game Friday night.

Good. Dragic can use the help even though Ish is also starting to come along really well.

Good news!

I still think that if Bledsoe stayed healthy this year, the Suns would be a top 4 seed right now. Hopefully they can make a late season run at home court advantage.

He did participate in 3 on 3 drills at practice today. He said he was rusty, but that's to be expected. Good news, and I can't wait until he gets back on the floor and develops chemistry again with this bunch.

this would now be a good time for bledsoe to show up, if he's up for it.

Forget practice, he needs to be in the game next week if Goran's out any longer.

Bledsoe appears to be in the home stretch of his rehab. He's been playing 3-on-3 all week and has felt no soreness or complications. The final step will be to go through a full-contract 5-on-5 scrimmage and then ease his way back into game action. The Suns haven't given a timetable on Bledsoe, but it feels like he's very close.

Why are we so non-trasparent with this information?!

Suns have always been a team that works secretly.

And it's probably done so that the fans and media don't flame Bledsoe or question his dedication if he takes longer to return than the "targeted" time that the team would release. Aka Derrick Rose situation from last year.

The closest "source" to the Suns is Gambo and he had given a 4-6 week period after surgery for Bledsoe before playing in GAMES and yet it's been almost 8 weeks and Bledsoe hasn't even fully practiced with the team yet.

I'm sure the training staff is taking it real slow to try and fix this once and for all so it doesn't become a recurring thing in the future. Plus I bet Bledsoe & his agents probably don't want to rush matters either seeing that he has very little to gain from coming back to play this season.

I'd much rather a team that knows how to keep a secret than one that airs all of its laundry (dirty and otherwise). The Diamondbacks and Kevin Towers cant seem to help themselves but to announce to the world their every intent, goal and all the dirt on their own players, then look like fools when things dont work out.

Wasn't he supposed to have his first 5 on 5 practice/scrimmage today?

I hope Bledsoe comes back against the Clippers. It would be fitting considering he got injured in the last game against them and it's his former team.

I was thinking that too. Plus we will have 2 extra practice days after the Warriors game so that should get him prepared a little bit more.

His return will then be made against his former team in the building he used to call home..Staple Center!

Something tells me Bledsoe gets minutes tonight!!! Yes I'm dreaming. But why not? Give him 10 minutes off the bench.

“He has done well,” McDonough added. “You still see the explosiveness, see the burst and the ability to get by his guy and finish at the rim. We are optimisitic he will help us down the stretch.”

isn't this the home stretch?!

Stop farting around guys.
