Barbosa out for basically the rest of the season. I would look into signing alternatives.

1st step is making the playoffs, we need all the help we can get to even make it. Ben Gordon might be a good fit if he steps up his shooting. Even if we don't sign someone, at least Archie will get some more time.

Bledsoe's return is even more important now.

In the meantime, I hope Goodwin gets his minutes.

bledsoe's priority is him, not the suns. horny will lose the coach of the year award if the suns misses the playoffs.

Not sure if you're trying to cast a negative light on EB or what but the suns priority is Erics health as well so whatever point you're trying to make is moot really.

A player is waived before March 23rd, but clears waivers and is signed by another team after March 23rd.
Eligible for postseason: Yes
Example: Rasual Butler. The Raptors waived Butler on the 23rd, meaning he wouldn't clear waivers until after the deadline. But he will still be eligible for the postseason if a new team signs him.

The dates are from a previous season, but the rules remain the same.

You can sign a player that was waived before the cutoff point. And any player that hasn't played on an NBA team would be eligible for a playoff spot. Basically, the only players not eligible for a playoff spot are ones like Ben Gordon, who were on an NBA team and waived after the cutoff date.

I don't know who is available that would help the Suns, though.

Goodwin would have to get his minutes. Unless we are interested in signing guys like Rip Hamilton or bringing Malcom Lee back...... NO

even if we tried, the way the suns have mishandled the gasol trade (a no brainer) would have given quality free agents second thoughts. a team like dallas or chicago would have been able to get the deal done. this team is run by a rookie sticking to his 5 yr tanking script and is unable to adjust to changing circumstances.

Hey SDC, do you think the Suns should have traded for Gasol before the trade deadline?

Serious question:

How much semen have you wasted on Google image searches for Pau Gasol?

You seriously don't think that FAs would hesitate from signing with the Suns because the Suns didn't give up a 1st round pick for a 33 year old, past his prime player who was under contract for only 3 more months, do you?

The last team to give up a 1st round pick to rent a player for 3 months? The a Nets when they traded Damian Lillard to the Blazers for Gerald Wallace. They ended up having to overpay him to keep him in BKY so they can justify the trade. Ask them how that turned out for them.

Last team to give up something valuable for a rental player? The Bucks when they have up Tobias Harris to rent Redick for 3 months. Ask them how that turned out for them.

I don't think FAs are exactly clamoring to sign with the Nets or Bucks because they gave up something valuable to acquire a guy who was under contract for only 3 months. I would even say that the Suns are a far more attractive destination for FAs than Milwaukke or Brooklyn with the way those teams are currently structured.
