Serious screw job. What moves did the Sperms GM make?? Duncan, Nosebled, Parker, and Pops have been the foundation for so many years its such an easy job for their GM. McD turns a supposed cellar dweller team into a near playoff contender. F**K!!! What's next ... Dragic will not make any all-NBA team. Suns get no respect.

Exec of the year for Belinelli move wow..NBA just tried to fix their mistake by doing mistake.I mean, they gave the award because they think "Spurs is successful and consistant for a decade but we didn't give Exec of the year award to Buford. So let's give it this year." By doing this, you don't give the award to who really deserved it.

I actually wasn't watching much of the playoffs this season after we missed it, but now I have a reason to watch again. Boo Spurs!

Have to agree with everyone here. I guess if you draft Tim Duncan, you get executive of the year, each year till he retires. Lets be honest, the Spurs still go as Duncan goes. He plays good, the Spurs play good. He plays bad, the Spurs lose. Cant wait to see the Spurs without Duncan. If they continue to win for a few years after he leaves, than I will give them huge respect. But its unlikely.

Truer words have never been spoken. I don't even know if he drafted Tim Duncan or was GM then (I think Pop was GM, drafted him and then named himself head coach.) It's also easy to be one of the best coaches ever if your career coincides perfectly with Duncan's. But Pop knows this and has mentioned it. He's obviously a phenomenal coach, but sometimes it still amazes me how coaches with super duper stars (like top 10 players of all time) get put on such a high pedestal in relation to other really good coaches who likely would have similar results under similar circumstances.

I do give the Spurs credit for being great long after people expected them too, but like you said, they still pretty much go as Duncan does.

I think these awards for Pop and the front office should have possibly come if they continue to be elite the year after Duncan retires.

Popovich can make me look like a good player. Buford doesn't do s**t.

Remember when George Hill looked like the next superstar? Yea now he's barely starting caliber in Indiana. Remember when Gary Neal killed Miami and was gonna be the next 6th MOY? Yea he's warming the bench in Milwaukke.

Most of the players who the Spirs draft only play well under Popovich.

Even Westbrook is confused by this decision.

The national media barely took notice of the Suns and when they did, they largely had no idea what they were talking about..

So it's not a surprise that the awards aren't coming. Goran getting MIP shows how little they knew about him before, not how improved he has become.

I am a little bummed that McD didn't get the award for the excellent job he's done with the Suns. He single-handedly turned this crumbling mess of mismatched talents into a cohesive team with an identity and signed a rookie coach who came up 2nd for COY.

Some spurs fans trying hard to defend this win. They say they got Belinelli (fine) and re-signed Splitter. Gee that's a hard one (even though it was an overpay at the time).
This was def a lifetime achievement award. Nobody even had him in consideration. McDonough and Ujiri should have been ahead of him. Portland and Houston's too

I love how ESPN's reasoning for him winning was "staying the course". Basically admitting he won by keeping the team the way it was. Good job not making any major moves or completely blundering the offseason.

Strange year to give Buford a lifetime achievement award when they're were at least 3 GMs I'd rank ahead. McDonough, Olshey and Ujiri.

Didn't the Hill trade allow them to draft Kawhi Leonard with the Pacers' pick?

I suppose this could be TD's last season (well every year for the last few could've been) so they must've just given it to him now.

Like bwgood77 mentioned, if TD has retired and THEN they signed Belli and are still elite, then sure.

Yea. We passed on Leonard to draft Kieff. Even with Kieff becoming one of the best bench players in the NBA, I got a feeling that we will regret passing on Leonard for a very long time in the future. As will the other teams that passed on him.

Indiana could have just drafted Reggie Jackson instead of gifting the Spurs with Leonard.

Dragic was 16th in the mvp voting. Smells like no all-nba.
