So Adrian Woj, the best NBA insider, reports that Love has made it clear that he won't sign here, CLE or Denver.
So yea...now lets go back to getting LeBron to sign here

Whoa no way? Crazy he'd say us specifically.
A little surprised though. Does he think he and Curry are championship material?

Screw all the big name divas. They are not coming here. We are just going to have to build a juggernaut the old fashioned way, which is the best recipe for long term success anyway. It will be more fulfilling for many of us to win one that way anyway.
Spurs
Of course they got fortunate by getting the #1 pick in a year where there is a franchise player clear cut #1 pick which happens pretty rarely and they were never even in the lottery the prior 10 or so years and had been a contender with Robinson (another time the had good fortune getting the #1 pick a decade earlier) even making the WCF the year before he got injured, and finally hit the lottery and get Duncan.
But they have done most of the rest over the past 15 years by making shrewd picks, and signing nice role players and making smart decisions. So this is the part I am talking about. The first paragraph pissed me off in a big way because they were extraordinarily lucky. How often does a team in the WCF get a franchise player #1 pick the very next year? NEVER And 2007 and 2008 pissed me off pretty bad too.
Yankees
Early 2000s....they built that team through the draft..they dominated.......they've had a much worse track record trying to sign major superstars with big money (along with the Knicks)
Patriots
Did it the same way as the Spurs (without the benefit of the high pick)..sure they did ok getting to the Super Bowl once with #1 pick Drew Bledsoe, but their real success didn't start until after that, when he was replaced with a late pick.

I could care less about Kevin Love not wanting to be here. I honestly have never even really been interested in him. He has no inside game and takes fadeaway jump shots and three pointers all game. He can barely jump and pales in comparison athletically to most other players in the league. He is a great rebounder but plays absolutely no defense. He has never been to the playoffs or even been on a team that finished at least .500.

Kevin Love would be sweet over here.
Too bad he doesn't want us.
Let's move on and focus on drafting the best prospect possible in the next 2 drafts.

I never wanted Kevin Love if it was going to bust up the team to get him! Never thought he wanted to be with the Suns - he has never showed any interest in being here. I think it is safe to move on from this.
I love the Kings offering the #8 for Dragic.

First its KJ back in the 90s, then its Bledsoe for Thomas. Now its Dragic for the #8. You cannot say they do not love our point guards.

Still haven't seen the direct source of what Woj said or any confirmation from a reputable source. Even so it doesn't completely remove the Suns from the picture. KG didn't want to go to the Celtics either(which was the only reason the Suns had a shot at him) but once they acquired Ray Allen he changed his tune. I still think the bigger hurdle is putting together a package the Wolves want without crippling the team.

Also I was listening to gambo and he was saying the kings called asking to trade the #8 for dragic. Obviously, that was a quick no.
I think now I have a good feeling where the suns are going. They were looking at PGs because they are not keeping Bledsoe. Not real surprised.

Well if this is true, we're not making the playoffs next year.

So then what exactly is the game plan here? I fail to see any stars we can trade for using Bledsoe. We can't use him to get a pick in this draft, so I don't really understand.

I am at the point where I have no clue what McDonough is up to. Unless the Suns doctors said not to re-sign Bledsoe, I would be blown away if the Suns just let him go over a money issue. Everyone in the organization has said they are going match any offer and would prefer it to not even come to that. The big difference between Bledsoe and Dragic is that Bledsoe can be controlled right now for up to five years while Dragic can leave after next year. I believe the Suns were 23-11 when they played together. which is a 68% winning percentage. Over 82 games, that is more than 55 wins. Giving Bledsoe a max deal does not hurt the Suns cap space this summer. They can still go out and sign max players or trade for them.

Draft Nik Stauskas and Zach LaVine and wallow in mediocrity.

http://www.rantsports.com/nba/2014/06/2 ... soes-next/"The Mavericks, per Tim MacMahon of ESPNDallas.com, are seriously interested in Phoenix Suns point guard sensation Eric Bledsoe. The Suns have expressed their desire to bring back Bledsoe, but have not confirmed whether or not they are willing to give Bledsoe a max contract.
Either way, it appears Cuban isn’t playing any games this offseason. The Mavericks appear to be getting back their identity of shaking things up and making moves. There will be more to come on this particular story as it develops."
What could Dallas have that we'd want instead of Bledsoe? Nothing I can think of

I feel a sense of panic running over me that I haven't felt since Lance Blanks was GM.

Exactly. Dallas really doesn't have anything to offer. I mean Cuban can be all "I'm not playing games this offseason" all he wants but they have nothing of value.

I have thought for some time that trading Bledsoe and drafting Marcus Smart would be a 'smart' move. They seem very similar in build and style of play, with Smart being bigger and stronger. Unfortunately with Embiid falling, I have seem some mocks with Smart at 4. Don't see us being able to move up that far.
