The Official Alec Brown Thread!

Because 50th picks need love too...

His game reminds me a lot of Channing Frye's game, but a lot lighter on his feet/more mobile. Quicker release and I like the fact that he follows the shots he doesn't think are going in.

If he can maintain his mobility while adding weight (cause he's like almost 20lbs underweight for the NBA) than I can see him becoming a rotation player like Frye.

I know he can shoot but I really liked the touch around the rim. Also he's a big guy that fluidly runs up and down the court. I'd like to see him in the Dleague the first year to see how he progresses his game against some guys his height.

I like Brown more than Ennis. High block percentage against poor competition, but still. Gain a little weight and play the stretch four with Len.

two 7'1 athletic guys on the front line! So what they are light in the ass, so was/is Dirk!!

I think his skillset could really make him a sleeper. There has to be more here that we are not seeing....because his skillset projects pretty well. I would say his closest comparison would be Jason Smith in NOLA. Smith is a little wider, but Brown is more athletic, and it would appear- a better, more dynamic scorer. I haven't seen a 7 footer run like that very often. Also he has great body control for a 7 footer. Beyond the fact he is 7 ft, he showed the 3 ball, fade, jab step, step back, spin move, baseline jumper, up and under....that's a pretty good toolset.

I wonder if there are character questions, or if he is just so weak that he would get walked all over...

Rebound rate, strength, how often do you see a 7 footer who doesn't dunk? He's very mobile and can really stroke it, but he'll have to work on his body to make in the league.

He's a long way away from becoming a rotation player

Kid needs to add muscle, not just weight. Otherwise he needs to play SF.

I think the problem was that he got eaten up by better competition. Kaminsky chewed him up and spit him out. But if he plays a stretch 4 role, the matchups would be different.

So, I can see our starting summer league roster now.

Ennis
Archie
TJ
Brown

He's got decent mobility for a man his size and there is a strong market for stretch bigs in the league the last few years so he may have a chance of being a rotation player.

If he can give us 48 minutes in one NBA season I'd say he was a successful draft pick.

How the #@$% are you 7 feet tall and not picked in the first round?? If I were 7 feet I would be the best player in history!

I always say this. Put another foot on me and I'm seriously dominating people, no doubt.

This guy is way taller than Alec Brown and he wasn't even drafted at all. Signed to the Kings summer league team

If he makes it to the NBA roster, he would instantly be the tallest player in the league.

This.

I'ld be a 7 foot freak that can shoot thress, handle the pass, pass, and also post up.... plus a millionaire.

I look at seven footers in the NBA that are slow as turtles and cant his a free throw, and I just laugh.

Bummer, I didn't know he was going to Europe. I thought he could take the Frye role, just from the bench.
