but considering what other centers got paid it's not that much?

I would have an issue with the length of the contract more than anything.

Feels like players are getting sportscenter blocks on him every game now.

That's because he's being more aggressively. And appropriately so. Overall it's better for us that he goes up than if he were to shy away (like he used to).

I think I want Alex back here at the right price. Seems like he's figured out what type of player he is. What that price is, I dunno.

It's too bad he hasn't figured out how to consistently play like the player he's figured out he is.

Pretty much sums up Alex Len ... still horrible on the offensive side of the game even when he takes most of his shots near the rim.

I know some are talking of paying him double digits a year or expect him to get that..I don't think so. I'm not sure there will be a market at all. I decided to pose the question for others about what they thought centers might get. I will say that most of those people expect to get big money will because teams are re-signing them.

Interesting tidbit on Len ... he has produced four consecutive games with 3+ assists.

He has only 7 games in his career with 3 or more assists playing 28 minutes or less ... http://bkref.com/tiny/fkAmV

Also, he only has 16 career 3+ assist games and only two last season ... http://bkref.com/tiny/5RNAj

Coach T working hard on teaching Alex the game.

Alex is averaging 15 pts and 15 rebounds in his per/36 numbers. And before someone rips per/36, it is a good measure when a player is getting extended minutes. He is averaging 22 minutes per game. He production per minute has been consistent. He is passing the ball lately. The light is coming on for the young man.

But from his recent comments, he is playing for free agency. He just came out and said it.

It is all about the next 50 games.

If Len plays really well for the rest of the season he is gonna be paid a lot.

If Len plays a great game here and three bad games there, he is gonna receive low offers.

Hopefully he plays great until the end of the season and we need to pay him good money to stay wih us.

I don't know what people consider a lot. But there isn't much of a market for centers right now and not a lot of teams with money. Regardless, I think he'll be fairly lucky to get double digits a year.

Ummm...if he plays well enough for the rest of the season he is gonna get probably around $50M / 4 years IMO.

Maybe it was out of our control at times (low trade value) but we did stick with him through his struggles for 5 seasons. I hope we can resign him

I remember correctly that Len be in the Sans roster longer than all the other players except Dudley (who left for 3 seasons)?

Len, 24, is averaging career highs in points (9.3), rebounds (9.4), assists (1.3), field goal percentage (53.7), free throw percentage (77.3) and percentage of available rebounds grabbed (22.1). He ranks fifth in the NBA in screen assists (screens that directly lead to a field goal) and, just 32 games into the season, he already has 10 games with at least double-digit rebounds and only four games in which he’s had five rebounds or less.

In Phoenix’s last two games, wins over Minnesota and Dallas, Len has scored 26 points with 33 rebounds, 10 assists and two blocked shots. He is playing so well that Triano hasn’t gone back to veteran Tyson Chandler to finish out the games.

The team that makes me nervous is Dallas. Cuban isn't afraid to throw dollars out there for free agents and the 0% income tax in Texas would be pretty big for Len. Especially if he starts getting any endorsements.

For whatever reason McDonough and coaches haven't really rated him, even now he doesn't get to start.

4 wasted years trying to make him a floor spacer.
I still cant watch his WILD touch around the rim, but he definitely stepped up this season.
Is he another contract year primer?
