Rebounding tends to be one of the more inconsistent stats, at least how people decide to perceive it. A lot of times, they'll say that someone is just padding their stats and they "steal" rebounds from their own team. They'll also say that X player boxes out and his teammate grabs the board, which is why their stats aren't so high.
What's really happening with Kieff is that he is not a big name so people don't want to acknowledge how good he it. Not to mention he's on a GREAT F*CKING CONTRACT
You don't have to look at stats to tell Kieff is a poor rebounder. Just watch his effort level when he's not looking to score. Doesn't make him a bad player it just shows he's more one dimensional.
^this. If you really want to focus on a player, then when watching the games, don't watch the ball, watch the certain player that you want to focus on even if he doesn't have the ball.
That's what I do with Frye when he was here and even though stats showed that he was the 2nd best defender of all time right behind Scottie Pippen, you could tell by watching him specifically how lost he was on defense.
What's funny is that while many Suns fans disagreed with me here, EVERY SINGLE Magic fan on their forum has complained and b**ched about Frye's defense on their forums. Some of them even want Hennigan fired for overpaying him and few are even willing to trade their pick this year to dump Frye.
Kieff is better than Frye but that isn't saying all that much. He just gives piss poor effort on the glass & defensively.
