To reply to Nev from the last thread, I've lived in Los Angeles for the last----too long. Bakersfield is only an hour away though. Never really crossed my mind to go, lol. I don't know if I'd be willing to drive just to see minor league basketball. Doing some research, the arena only holds 500 people and no individual tickets are sold anyway.

If Dragic truly is available for a 1st and other assets, how about?
CJ McCollum, solid young combo guard who is an excellent shooter 41.3 3pt% and decent ball-handler. Could be a nice compliment to Bledsoe long-term
Thomas Robinson - probably nothing more than an ending contract at this point but can rebound and dunk. His skill set has not been a good match for Portland
2015 1st, unprotected. Will probably be in the 15-25 range

I think we would pass.
CJ really doesnt do it for us, we are already Guard Heavy, so for him to be the somewhat focal point of this trade makes no sense.
Even though Robinson is Team FOE with the MoBros, like you said, he hasnt been a good skillset match for Portland...or Sacramento.....or Houston. Pretty much he has struck out with all 3 teams he has been with over the past 2 years. Thats a bad sign and really says something about him as a player.
Honestly, i feel like there are much better trades out there.

That package would net you Isiah Thomas, but not Dragic.

Thanks but no thanks. Likely he is not available (at least not for a mid first round pick), it was started by a milwaukee journalist trying to make headlines...
*edit: nevetsov beat me to it, but yeah, you can have IT for that package

Thanks for the replies. It's really hard to gague the value of Dragic given is impending probable F/A status. Many teams have cap-space next off-season but they are not the same teams that could use Dragic for this year's playoffs so getting return value commensurate with his on court value is not going to be easy if Phoenix does decide to move him.
Robinson would be ideal as the roll-man in a Blake Griffin/DeAndre Jordan type of situation. In Portland our offense is built around having a PF who is an iso threat like Aldridge, You can't just plug Robinson into that role and you shouldn't devise plays based around a back-up with a different skill set. Hence Myers Leonard has supplanted Robinson as back-up PF since he is a very solid floor spacer (50-40-90 if you were not aware)

I still think the best case scenario is:
Hou: Goran, Zoran, Plumlee
PHX: D-MO, Capela, NO 1st (give or take), salary filler
Zoran is extra insurance for Goran to resign in HOU. It's already a great contending situation for him to resign, but that's the cherry on top for him. Plumlee is a better backup for Dwight than Dorsey. We get a really promising young PF and a center prospect.
McD should begin and end the phone call with "D-MO," since the Rockets probably can't get Goran in FA, it gets them his bird rights, and they'll probably be desperate if the Nuggets won't budge on Lawson. It'll be better to lose Dragic for nothing than to help them get their big missing piece in exchange for scraps.

with Houston I can see
Goran, Zoran, Miles
for
Papanikolau, Shved, Capela, NOLA 1st
That is a good scenario, Motiejunas wont happen, unless you dont get the NOLA 1st.

All these Rockets fans acting like they already have Dragic leaves a bad taste in my mouth, i would rather let Dragic walk then trade him to Houston

I agree, at least if it's not for anything worthwhile. And if we're going to give Dragic away for scraps, there's no reason for it to be to Houston. Send him East.

I'm not too worried since McD usually wins out in trades. If he doesn't get what he wants, he won't make a trade. He knows Houston can't sign Goran in the offseason, for what other teams will offer him.

The Goran situation is similar to Pau gasol last trade deadline. Heck some posters here are acting like the laker posters ladt yr who thought they would get 3 1st rounders for a 30 game gasol rental. Lakers probably wish they would have just taken the best offer since they got NOTHING this summer when he left.
I don't mind the Houston deals. To me it's better than taking a vet like Gibson back. The pels pick which will probably be 14th and a couple other minor prospects isn't "scraps"... it's actually a decent return for 30 games of Goran.
Suns went through this with amare his last year. They should have dealt him even for a minor package. Then they really messes up by getting desperate after he left and signing childress and Warrick.

Was just browsing clutchfans and someone there is saying GS may be offering David (center piece of a trade) Lee for Goran.
http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.ph ... &page=1248I don't see it. Lee is highly over paid. Wont work.

I haven't seen any trade from Suns fan that expected two first rounders let alone three. But to a team like Houston, which most of us think he would resign, Dmo isn't too much to ask. Especially since we know they won't be able to sign him in the offseason. Also if they wanted to try and clear cap space to do so, they would have to throw out picks for teams to take those salaries for nothing.

Overall, I don't want to trade Goran. I want to resign him in the offseason. I'd much rather trade IT for a backup big.

As someone mentioned in that thread, unless Green was tied to it, no thanks.
More realistically, maybe a deal centered around Barnes.

Again, I don't want any deals with Houston. Bad players coming back to us. We can do better I would hope.
