Goran Dragic Appreciation Thread

I'll still remember the day when I mourned seeing Nash get traded to the Lakers on the 4th of July couple years ago. Shortly after, the Suns brought Goran Dragic back to become the lead PG after he was the backup to Nash for many years. I loved it, Goran didn't hold any grudges and signed back home in PHX for a discount.
It was the start of the new era.
He stuck through the Michael Beasley times, the Josh Childress times, the Lindsay Hunter times without bad mouthing the FO or demanding a trade or anything. Even after trading for Bledsoe, he did not complain. He embraced Bledsoe and said that he wants Bledsoe to be his teammate for the foreseeable future. They complimented each other extremely well and they were both well aware of that.
Ultimately, signing and drafting PGs (IT & Ennis) after he himself having an excellent season and leading the team to 48 wins was just too much for him to handle. Instead of leaving what worked (Bledsoe-Goran) backcourt, the Suns tried to fix something that was not broken and here we are. He's demanded a trade and will now soon be gone.
I don't like it and I will miss him. Good bye Goran...

This is one of the top 5 NBA 'moments' I've ever watched live, it was unreal.

I was gonna include that in the OP but I thought I'll include just clips from his second tenture in Phoenix.
But yea man, I remember going insane watching that. One of the greatest quarters in the playoffs in NBA history.
Great times....

I don't really care about him leaving, and I really liked the guy. There's no heart-warming feelings and cuddles in the NBA, it's all about the business. He gained from the SUNS as much as the SUNS gained from him.

I'm not going to miss Goran. It's not like he's dead or anything. I still can have my cake and eat it too: enjoy the Suns playing basketball (nominally) and enjoy Goran balling wherever he may be. Although it'd be a massive kick to the guts if he follows Ginobili's career path and has killa old man game.

The thing that makes Goran stand out for me is the fact that he is among the very few, not only in this lineup but for years, who actually really cares about that logo on center court. I think he has said many times that he's been a Suns fan before coming to the NBA. Then he came back to the organization that traded him, came back being the second choise (after Gordon), and took only 7 mln when he could have taken 10 easily. Then struggled through all the mishaps of the organization in recent years without much complaints and gave his all.
I think that everyone who doesn't appreciate having a player like this on his team and is happy to see him gone just like that doesn't care about that logo as well.

You're my favorite player in the league and I was distraught the first time we traded you. You're gonna be okay, and we're gonna be okay too. Eventually.
That's all I can say.

May I ask why bother posting in this thread then? I thought thread title was pretty clear....

among players who have been the second best point guards on Suns teams which didn't make hte playoffs, goran dragic is easily the best.

Don't like this at all. I was comfortable assuming Dragic would be a Sun for life.

So it's okay for you to bash everything about the Suns in every other thread but it's not cool for me to express an opinion in a civil matter? I didn't even say anything bad about him, I really did like the guy because he's from Europe like me and thought he appreciated being here.
