A. Given the circumstances, we now have a young solid core we can move forward with. We're also not going to be tempted to max a guy near 30.

Young core... as in losing a pretty much top 8 pick, Dragic, Ennis, Plumlee, and IT for a few late picks and Knight who will cost 12+M this summer to retain?

I love Len, love Bledsoe - but our "core" just got weaker...

Lakers pick isn't coming this year, and uncertain it comes next year.

Dragic tried to punk the FO. We didn't have many options there. Instead of letting him walk we got 2 first round picks for him.

Ennis is an unknown. Never really played-- think we drafted him for someone else at the time.

Plumlee was just ok-- he regressed and wanted out.

Isaiah wanted out after we dangled his name out there to appease Goran.

Knight is putting up better numbers than Goran, will not command as much to extend, and is nearly 6 years younger.
We have around 20 million in cap space this summer as well now.

Yes, I believe our core got stronger.

Really sounds like justifications, tbh.

Yes, we weren't getting the Lakers pick this year - which is why I said top-8 - or do you honestly believe the Lakers are going to be significantly better next year? And even without taking all the other moves into account - a RFA who will want good money and is still a huge question mark ( and Knight most definitely is) is not worth that pick.
Ennis and Plumlee on top of that - that's called being mugged.

I get the Dragic situation - there really was sense in getting the best you can and moving on. Trading the Lakers pick was very far from something inevitable.

Read the Bucks board - he's just not a PG - but he thinks he is and wants to be one. Needs the ball in his hands.

Didn't the Dragic situation arise exactly because we decided Bledsoe was our primary ballhandler?

We lost significant assets - it's a fact. Knight at 12-15M was not the guy to blow them on

I'm pretty upset about giving up Ennis and not holding on to the LA pick for a bigger trade this summer. Ennis WILL be good in the league. Even more upset that none of the trades opened up playing time for Warren and little for Goodwin.

If Brandon Knight is content with playing the 2 in the starting lineup then today's transactions will be great for Bledsoe. He wants to be the man and now has his chance. This may be our first true glimpse of what we really have in him. If Knight blossoms, great. Otherwise, you go hard after Matthews or Butler in the offseason.

No Plumlee will be great for my sanity and for Alex Len. As long as he stays healthy, he will get more playing time and touches in the absence of Miles.

Hopefully all the acquired picks are part of a bigger picture that will be revealed in the offseason. I'd sell the farm and my left nut to land Cousins somehow (the LA pick would have helped tremendously here).

Unless the team meshes perfectly, these trades all but took us out of the playoff race and unfortunately took place too late in the season to drop us down far enough in the standings to at least appease tank enthusiasts.

Too many ifs and not enough concrete gains to give today anything higher than a C.

C because of Lakers pick

Don't know much about Knight but if McD think he is good then I trust him

The Brandon Knight trade could wind up becoming bad. That's a lotta assets given up for an expiring, but he's got talent and we'll see it goes down.

We got good value in the Dragic trade considering we were gonna lose him for nothing.

Overall, grade B for me

Gotta be a least a C given the short notice provided by Duffy/Dragic.

1) Eliminated small ball
2) Didn't take on any long term salary
3) Have three future 1sts
4) Picked up another combo guard who may work out or could be traded in the off-season
5) More than likely opened playing time for some of our young guys

I'd go with a B-

Seems like a D+ or C- right now. Can't believe we couldn't even get one decent player from the Heat. We got two draft picks which, if they are worth anything, we won't get to see turn into anything for years.

The Knight trade seems a bit of a stretch. It could work but I hate that we run into the same issue of trying to force a guy to the 2 that doesn't want to be there.

I'm really disappointed that we couldn't even get one decent PF rebounder out of the mess.

Oh, and OKC blew it out of the water.

All things considered I think the value for Dragic(s) and IT are as good as we could have hoped for.

Knight could work out, but I have no idea how Milwaukee got that much for him.

Precisely my sentiments; I think these are the most salient points that has come frrom this deadline.

Trade away Dragic; understandable- the FO needs to do what they have to do if they request it. Trade away Plumlee and IT just for the sake of freeing up PT for the young guys, okay, that's all good they need to see minutes by next year at the latest anyway. But then we give away Ennis for another player similar to IT and waive Marshall?? I truly believe Ennis(or Marshall) would have been ideal point guards to pair, grow, and develop chemistry with Goodwin, Warren, Wright, and Hamilton/Morris or whoever we choose to develop at backup C-PF. But that was thrown away. And that Lakers pick!!! I understand getting rid of some pick, as we already have enough youth and incoming picks over the next few years, but the least McDungoofed could have done is give the sixers the lower pick between the Lakers and ours in '16.

I gave the Suns a D and I think that's being nice. All the other teams, acquired/traded/dropped large contracts with long term benefit. The Suns got worse with the loss of Dragic and IT while not creating any opportunities for the 1st and 2nd year players.

Not to mention we have no backup point guard now, unless the powers that be are dumb enough to think Goodwin can fill that role.

If what Milwakuee is saying about Knight is true then a D, turns into an F- if Lakers pick is 4-10 next year.

Echoing a lot of the already-stated sentiments here...

My grade would be a D at the moment, I've been underwhelmed at Brandon Knight's professional career as talented as he might be and I am fairly heartbroken that Dragic's time here ended the way it did. Giving up the Laker pick and Ennis is unfortunate. Plumlee/IT, I can live with that as it opens up playing time for people I'd rather have out there.

My score could go up, as there is probably some emotion factored in right now.

considering we had no options I couldn't blame the front office for the outcome. Just wish we had the Lakers pick and it'd be an A

If we could have gotten Knight for IT, Plumlee and our 2016 pick, kept the Lakers pick and kept Ennis to try him at backup 1, I'd give us a C or maybe C+.

I'd like to recast my vote. I missed that we now have cap space for a maximum free agent next year. Going from an B- to a solid A.
