We are already on a 4 game losing streak.

We have an extremely high chance of finishing the season off on an 11 game losing streak. 38-44 record.

I know that as of right now it is hard to see Hornacek getting fired because there would be some public backlash but if we lose out then it would be a much easier sell.

EDIT: Everyone seems to think this is a Hornacek hate thread and nothing else. The purpose was actually to discuss the remaining schedule (hence the title "Suns remaining schedule) and a potential losing streak as well as how that could impact Jeff Hornacek's job security.

Except for the fact that you and only a handful of posters believe that is the real problem. And I don't think we needed another thread about this since you post it in the Hornacek thread repeatedly as well as everywhere else. We are all WELL AWARE of your opinion.

Plus, there is about a 1% chance of this happening.

I want to preface this by saying I'm hardly a Hornacek apologist. He's made plenty of baffling decisions that piss me off and some that happened months and months ago still piss me off to this day (like that time he threw away the Grizzles game where we had a 7 point lead with 90 seconds to go and we lost by 1 after he tried to close the game with the 3 point guards and the Morris twins - I fume just thinking about it). Hell, I'm not even over his awful substitutions last game that **** everything up and led to the Suns blowing their lead against the Thunder (unbelievably bad usage of Brandon Knight, subbing him in at the most arbitrary and awful times).

That being said...the system still creates plenty of open spot up jump shots, even if it isn't always pretty. The Suns just shoot like boiled **** and brick everything imaginable. They just went 3-16 from three, with most of those easy spot up looks, against a team that went 12-27 from 3 that featured plenty of moving threes taken off of screens. I'm sure a guy who wound up in the 50/40/90 club is internally fuming at their inability to splash the basketball, but it's not like he can get out there and do it for them.

I don't want to fire Hornacek, simply because there are some spectacularly awful NBA coaches out there. Unless there's a clear upgrade on the market who wants to take this job, I'd be very wary of firing Hornacek without giving him at least one more year. Getting stuck with Vinnie del Negro or something like that might actually break my spirit permanently.

Hornacek is hardly the problem, but sure keep using him as the scapegoat.

Can't go from calling him great one year to the problem the next. Our first half issues were growing pains. We lost I think 15 games by 5pts or less. Win half and we're ahead in the playoff standings.
Since the Dragic issue, everything fell apart. Hornacek should, and will (IMO), get one more season to see what he can do. If it's just as ugly, then he won't be brought back after that.

The bigger issue is the talent and chemistry. Someone mentioned to me something that I have been thinking about for a while myself. It might be a good idea to just blow this the hell up.
Keep Warren, Goodwin, and Len. Trade Bledsoe (while he still holds value), trade the twins, trade Tucker, sign and trade Knight or re-sign him for now before later dealing him to get something of value for him.

We were supposed to tank last season but that didn't happen. The team overachieved and that led to McDonough having to go in another direction (contending now while maintaining assets). It's clear that these pieces won't lead us to a title anytime soon but we could get a lot for what we have, all the while 'tanking' for the next couple seasons to finally get a high pick to build around.

I know that as of right now it is hard to see Hornacek getting fired because there would be some public backlash but if we lose out there will be some pressure on the FO to fix the real problem: coaching.

If Knight returns, we'll get a W or 2 in there somewhere. Jazz at home, we probably get the win regardless. At this stage, the best we can hope for is to get the 13th seed.

Oh no! Suns will get 13th pick instead of 14th! What a tragedy!

But serious, one topic about how you hate Horny is just enought

Do not sleep on the Jazz. They are flat out ballin lately and Gobert is putting up video game numbers. They are a better team than us now.
