I like the pick. I think given who was available, he was the best. At least he's not a point guard

Only other guy that would have made sense was Bobby Portis.

Its fine, I think having a guard that can shoot the ball isn't such a terrible thing. This kid won't be so bad but the lesson to learn here to stop floating in mediocrity and either be good enough to make playoffs or bad enough to get a top 10 pick and get a steal like Winslow and not stuck in the middle.

Youngest player in the draft and the fastest lateral quickness time at the combine. Another solid #13 pick in b2b years.

I like the pick. Not a perfect prospect but at 13 it's good value. Dude can flat out shoot and the suns needed that. At 18 he certainly has room to get better.

Good pick from where we were standing but still disappointing all those big men were off the board.

Hope to see good things in the future from him.

who should we have taken at 13 who was available? no trades happened in the lotto so obviously the price was too high to move up. the big man targets were off the board by the time we picked (WCS, Frank, Turner, Lyles) as were the better wings (Winslow and Stanley).

Pros: good to great shooter
Cons: mediocre athlete, poor defensive potential, can't put the ball on the floor, not a great playmaker, not a great rebounder, didn't rack up steals/blocks

This kid won't make it in the league man. His shot is going to have to be amazing (like korver esque) to justify leaving him on the floor in a playoff game. Not many guys you see that are just three point shooters without the defense. Hopefully I'm wrong and he develops into a good defender, but there's no signs to say he might other than him just being young. Even his shooting is somewhat wasted on a team like us that doesn't run very many screens for shooters.

Portis RHJ or Harrell or even Payne would have been better picks imo

Devin "better pick than Kendal Marshal" Booker.

We have no depth up front but we sure do have guards.

he tested out really well in agility and he's not a bad athlete (better than Russell). No reason to think he can't be a good defender.

Booker has the ability to defend with his elite foot speed but Kentucky guards didn't care about D with Towns and Cauley-Stein behind them. He will need to defend here.

He has been poor at defending bigger players (small forwards) and doesn't have the lateral quicks to stop pgs. He basically can only defend pure shooter sgs like himself. The wing positions have been getting more and more fluid in the nba and I'm not sure he's the guy for that future. He will improve spacing for sure though, so hopefully that will help out the bench unit.

How is he a mediocre athlete if he had the fastest agility time at the combine? Plus, how can you assess a guy's defensive potential at 18? He has good size and we need shooting.
