If Knight signs for $14 mill a season and this means we have Bled, Markeiff and Knight signed for a total of $36 million a season. This team is in one of the best cap situation in the NBA. Add that to the great rookie contracts and young potential and I am bubbling with optimism.

It's all or nothing on these boards. We either need to be contenders or tankers for most here. I agree with your points, btw. In before someone talks about Bledsoe's TO's, Kieff's legal issues, or Bucks' fans badmouth Knight.

It's always good when Raptors fans are bubbling with optimism about the Suns.

I've seen OP post somewhere else that he's a Suns fan.

It was kind of a joke, but yes, in the "5 favorite Suns" thread he mentions Westphal and Davis and you're probably somewhat of a long term fan if those guys are listed in your top 5 Suns.

You got it. I was a Suns fan before I was a Raptor fan. Because of the way TV was back then, some years I didn't get to see them play even once.

Lol, no. This team is a pile of hot garbage that won't improve in anyway shape or form. Only players on other teams can improve, not Suns players. No one wants to play here. I'm not being pessimistic, just a realist. Even the General Board says so despite not really watching Suns games.

I came on this forum full of optism, now I'm lurking like

Yeah next season should be a telling one, and will be much watch for me. I'm glad Knight is back, he's a good kid, and will pair up better with Bledsoe. Also, I've gotten over Dragic.

I'm optimistic that Bledsoe CAN increase his TOs per game numbers, optimistic that the Suns CAN win while Kieff's in jail, and optimistic that Knight can be S&T'd to the Bucks, thus allowing them to think he's a great player again!!

I know it may be hard to be optimistic right now but a few days ago would you belive that Suns will be one of only 2 teams that Aldridge choose from?
Or would you belive Marcus is traded without adding any value?

I remember the days Suns were always part of the FA frenzy.
When T-Mac/Kobe to suns was not laughed at, when Suns get Kidd, Penny, Gugliota. When Suns win trades big time with Barkley etc.
When the Suns start making the playoffs again, with proof of good management and bright future. That's when FAs actually put them in the "must consider" list.
Hopefully it starts again this coming season... The last 5 has been a disappointment.

I think the Aldridge dealings opened up some eyes and made the Suns a more viable destination in the eyes of future free agents. The way they can improve that is by showing improved play out on the basketball court. If they can come out with a winning record, even a playoff slot, it will allow them to make a much better case to free agents next season.

The other side of the coin,
getting top draft picks (by losing a ton or "developing" the youth) also allows Suns to OUTBID other teams during trade scenarios, this is ideal for trading for locked-up players whose teams are looking to rebuild or cash in.

Except we don't have those

I know.
I mentioned it, because a big portion of Suns fans here (the so called tankers) also have valid points in how to bring in talent.
High picks doesnt have to be treated purely as "rookies" that can boom or bust.
But... they can be used to tip over offers for stars.
Cavs got Love because of Pick# 1 (Wiggins).
No matter how much McD offered Saunders, Wolves simply wanted to rebuild clean and the pick #1 appealed more. Had the Suns have a top 7 pick that year, maybe they could of convinced Saunders to trade Love to Suns instead... even if its against Love's intention. I mean, chances are the Suns would of been competitive enough to convince Love they are only improving etc. (just as an example).
In summary, my point is... when trying to get "stars".... getting a high pick is not just a gamble to land a player. Its a way to obtain a significantly valuable component of a package for a star.

Just saw this. I made a post similar to this after this the offseason thread. Wasn't piggybacking.
So obviously the answer is, no, I wouldn't have believed either of those things. But I'm sure some will find ways to blame the FO.
