Bye Bye Marcus

Marcus Morris, Danny Granger and Reggie Bullock have been traded to the Pistons for future draft picks.
The Suns will receive a 2020 second-round draft pick, so this is obviously a salary shedding move for Phoenix. Morris will give some more shooting to Stan Van Gundy, and he could emerge as a nice low-end, 3-point specialist as a key cog in the Pistons rotation. We'll be watching Van Gundy's rotations develop closely leading up to the regular-season, but it should be noted that the guy in front of Morris on the depth chart (Ersan Ilyasova) has had some major issues with staying healthy. He could also see some time at the small forward position, which will hurt the value of Stanley Johnson.
Wonder if this is a good sign on the LMA front and wonder how Markeiff is gonna react

Wow, and everybody here was thinking Marcus is impossible to trade

Great news, hope this will heal team chemistry.

No, this fills me with some sadness as well, since this also means Markieff is probably on his way out as well

I am probably the only one that didn't like anything Marcus bought to the table. I havent noticed any improvements in Kieff's game when he got here, besides they mostly only passed to each other. Plus the technical fouls were starting to pile up even more when he showed up. And he was probably the biggest ball stopper on offense.
Never liked the trade for him from the beginning, thought it was a complete gimmick move even when we signed them both together. I won't be missing his iso ball

Hi Suns fans, I come in peace.
Can you guys give me a quick run down of what to expect from this guy??
Are the bad character issues legit??

Pretty much the most average player in the league in every which way, except he's a hothead to boot, so...yeah. At least he's a decent 3 pt shooter though. Plays like a 60 year old Carmelo Anthony, which is awesome when he catches fire, and not so awesome the other 95% of the time.

Yeah, they are. He was the reason for the whole thing. But they should get off, or at least not have to serve any time.
Knock down 3 point shooter, can really go off in a game. SVG will love him.
Also doubt the Detroit fans will let him get away with the same stuff that he did here.

If he gets enough minutes on the court he can become a high volume scorer when he's chucking in garbage time and has some range to his offensive game but nothing else. But in general he's a team cancer and a turnstile on defense

Good riddance.
Sometimes subtraction truly is addition.

Yes, but I think he is worse around his brother. I also think he will probably be humbled due to being charged with a felony and getting traded. He can get really hot in games on occasion.

The bad habits are there I think team chemistry was poor in part due to his behavior but I think vet leadership would help him channel his passion during game play in more productive ways. That is , if he were on a team like the spurs he'd be more in line rather than a team like the suns of last year with minimal vets and star power.

I felt as Marcus was showing some improvement in his game towards the end of the season. In particular, he seemed to show major improvement in his rebounding and passing, and there were times where he played much better than his brother Kieff. Although, I still was strongly against his blatant chucking, he still was a solid player to have especially off the bench. And if you consider his contract and age, and put his off the court trouble aside, he was a decent player.

To me this move is a good thing for both the Suns and Marcus. For the Suns, it's clearing cap space to take a shot at the LMA sweepstakes and be rid of 1/2 of the Doublement Twins and the headaches that come along with it. I think it was Woj who stated that the Suns will have to clear more room by either trading Markieff or P.J. Tucker. I say Mark due to value.
Also I think it's a good thing that both twins need to split up at this juncture. They need to know what it's like to play without each other on the same team. As solid as they can be at times, their lack of immaturity gets the better of them at times to the point of trouble like the arrest for instance. They need to work on their maturity and up their IQ in behavior and more bball knowledge around a well versed veteran team who can show they how.
