Winning players on this team

Post#1 » by hollywood6964 » Tue Jul 14, 2015 8:50 pm

I'm not sure if this has been done here, as I'm new to this forum, but looking at our roster, I'm trying to find any players I would consider ones you could win with. Guys who just know how to get it done; block out, play stiff defense, hit big shots, etc.....and I'm not seeing many. If I had to pick 3 guys, it'd be tyson chandler (of course an easy one), pj Tucker (guy just knows how to play, a san antonio type of guy), and then......and then I'd be hard pressed to pick another.

I'm probably being unfair to Knight, as I haven't seen much of him, besides being a prestigious shaqtin a fool annual nominee, but that said, I'm not seeing any others.

Never been high on bledsoe, does too many things wrong on the court, and is also a shoot first combo guard, which typically doesn't equal to deep playoff runs.

Markieff, well he's got a little low post talent; lucky for him, he doesn't have much otherwise, and he's another attitude problem.

Len's young, jury's still out, haven't seen enough, but early signs looks to be a bungler around the rim, but not sure as of yet.

I don't even think there's three guys I'd take in that capacity, now we have a lot of young guys, so it may be fair to give it some time, for some of them, but none are top prospects that I see with a high ceiling, although Len still may very well be solid. Do you guys see 3 players on the current roster you would considers guys you can win big with? And if so, who?

Well we are too young to have many of those type guys yet. You named the two guys who have more experience. When you have all guys who have been in the league five years or less, you're not likely to see many of those types of guys. People like AD, Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler are exceptions

I would say Tyson Chandler, P.J. Tucker and Warren. But this is a subjective question, so no one can say that knows the answer.

None, this is the Suns, we don't have any winning players, only losing ones. Chandler was a winning player on the Mavs, but he's in a Suns jersey now.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

I love drive-by posts like this. I think the team has plenty of talent, lots of young talent and I'm looking forward to seeing various players such as Len, Warren, Knight, Goodwin and Booker develop.

This time a year ago, the Warriors' most playoff hardened player was probably...Iguodala? He'd won -- count 'em...one -- playoff series in his career.

One could have argued that the Warriors didn't have ANY *winning* players. Until they, ya know, won.

And Iguadala was KEY in the Cavs series...made Lebron exhausted scoring and nailed daggers offensively.

I think a lot of what we discuss on these boards, need to be adjusted to the context of where we are.

For 2 months all I read was how Kaminsky was going to be perfect for us, with our current line up. Rookies don't change non-playoff teams in their first or second year!

Winning players really only matter if you've got the talent, but need more experience. Otherwise I'd take a massive loser with talent, like Kevin Love over Mike Miller.

I don't think Bledsoe is a shoot first type player. He is unselfish and he has a potential to be a good playmaker with his driving abilities and athleticism. I know he has a low BBIQ but that doesn't make him selfish.

I would add Knight to that list. When he was with the Bucks he was their closer and I think with a full season with the Suns he'll be our best player.

What does the drive by mean? That I didn't have replies? Or didn't reply right away? For one, I do, do other things, this isn't even on the radar, but maybe once a day. Second, little comments (after my first post mind you) like that is what causes people to just say f it, n not post on forums, because of dealing with snarky comments ad-nuaseum, all the time is silly. It's what give forums like these a bad name.........heeehhhh, anyway, I stand with what I posted to begin with, youth and opportunity play a factor, for surte, but just players makeup- bball iq, defensive prowess, clutch factor and a determined will, usually show up early on in the game. Take PJ tucker for example, yeah, he's just turned 30, but has only 4 seasons in the league, no playoff runs and 1 season was an extreme partial, and I saw those attributes a couple of years ago, as I think most people did.

No player on this roster is currently good enough to singelhandedly elevate us to contention so no. We have some crafty role players /vets and defensive specialists that could be complimentary to a championship calibre team but thats about it.

I think Tyson is a winning player. Won title, played on some very good teams and will be playing for Team USA

Iggy was icing. Lebron was amazing going up against a superior team and making them question themselves. I'm super stoked for GSW but the Cavs really were just willed by Lebron and I couldn't believe how he took it to them with bare bones role players who never really came together.
